Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
I don't remember if I had the 996 at that point or if it was the old '86.
Leading evidence: ''86' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is ''86' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace colors' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Once you have the HDR image you like you can always go back and look at tonal changes with a NIK filter.

Suggestion
Either use HDR to make something really artzy or use it to enhance picture to make it really realistic and more dramatic.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Nice! I like the HDR shots and have been meaning to try a few with my Canon 5D MIII. Maybe the next cars and coffee event this weekend.
Thanks for posting!
Not to hijack your thread but I also have leaves turning. HDR with Nik fliter effect post processing.

Once you have the HDR image you like you can always go back and look at tonal changes with a NIK filter. This takes much less time than the original HDR image takes. More tonality produces more of a cartoon effect.

Waaaayy too much HDR. I think you guys miss the point of HDR to begin with - it meant to bring in detail that would either be under or overexposed in scene has difficult lighting conditions. In general there's very little reason to HDR outside in daytime... everything is well lit already!
obviously too tired to post a pic of my lovely fall ride through back roads in the mountains. even had a sciff of snow on the side of the roads.
will try some other time... ugh
@babylonboots: haha.. Thanks. I can't possibly post a HDR pic after passing a comment on it myself :P I've several of my shutterbug friends who're not big fans of HDR, so am I.
CDL,where did you go? I have my winters installed and I am planning to do the Hope Princeton Merritt loop for the second time this month. Maybe I should try something else...
I wasn't a big fan either, but my new Canon makes it so easy. Actually, I've been amazed at some of the results which actually are more lifelike than without it.
I do agree that you can go overboard. For most situations, the trick is to do HDR without being able to tell it is HDR.
Exactly.
However I think personally I have more of an issue if they are inbetween. Either use HDR to make something really artzy or use it to enhance picture to make it really realistic and more dramatic. But don't get caught in the middle somewhere...
@babylonboots: I completely agree with you.
But look at it this way. DSLRs are sooooo affordable these days, so everyone can lay hands on them.
And when the camera comes with HDR as well, who wouldn't be tempted to try out some stuff
I guess it takes a bit of a practice to produce something that is pleasant to see.
@shyamvenky
Which route did you take to the catskills, I need to find some fun driving roads. I'm in jersey city as well and dont get to take the car out that often.
@hooger: Is this the yellow wide-body car that has a big spoiler at the back? because.. I remember having had quite a bit of fun along I-78 east a few months ago with such a car, all the way to jersey city
I don't remember if I had the 996 at that point or if it was the old '86. Anyways I'll PM you some of the fun roads that I've driven on in the area.
That was probably me, but its a narrow body with a fixed spoiler and yes, its on the back
. I do remember a red 911 on 78 with the powertech logo a few months back heading into JC with me. Did you give a thubms up through the moon-roof?
Nice! There was a glimmer in the back of my head that it could've been a real RUF so apologies for not giving you the benefit of the doubt. Very rare and nice car!!!
It was a great drive. There was some moisture in the air in the morning, but it started to clear up nicely. Never got any sunlight, but it wasn't cold and the roads were pretty clear going there. This was my first time driving this route and i was very impressed with the roads.
@alpine003 - no worries, i get that a lot.
Hey rasa k
I was just tootling aling the upper bench of mission by ruskin dam and dewdney trunk road and such nothing big. My fave is to pound it up to whistler first thing in the morning and be back home in time for lunch.
But that loop youre doing is awesome...probably incredible right now with few cars. We did that back in july and had a great drive. I may do whistler tomorrow since my baby goes into hibernation on thursday
The last time I went the Stave Lake route, I took one of those nasty speed bumps at the Stave Falls dam at a slightly higher speed, cracked part of my front spoiler lip. I have never been to Ruskin Dam though. Amazing how many nice drives we have in the area.
Well, The Porsche stayed safe and dry in the garage as the eye of Sandy passed over us. Now, a few days later, all is well here. I hope many who weren't so lucky get back to normal soon. A beautiful sunrise greeted me this morning as I drove in to work, the first break in the clouds for days.
