Bottom line, I'm looking at a turbo decklid, but I'm not gonna run the full spoiler, just the tail.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am trying to determine if the engine deck lid dimensions on a narrow body vs a wide body is any different? I am considering a different deck lid for my 996 Carrera, and I'm not sure it will fit. Bottom line, I'm looking at a turbo decklid, but I'm not gonna run the full spoiler, just the tail. Thinking of making additional faux vents to cover the round holes where the spoiler attaches. I have a line on one that is even the same color as my car, and as far as I know, it seems like they should interchange. But the seller says he's not sure. And it's not close enough for me to go and compare. Does anyone know? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

It's not a direct bolt-on fit. The turbo/C4S deck lid is longer and wider than the narrow body deck lid. You'll need to modify it to make it fit.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for confirming for me Dennis. That will be the end of that plan, then. I appreciate the input!
