Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My next purchase in the spring are new wheels. Many cars on Rennlist have this post but I don't see one for the 996. Post a picture of your wheels! Let us know the brand and the sizes! The cooler, the better. Let's see'em! If this post is somewhere else or has already been done, direct me to the post. I'd love to see all your wheels, post them up!

POST 3Original post

Steve, I will bite. One of my favorite wheels on a Porsche is the Ruf. It is what pushed me over the edge on purchasing my 996 cab. If I ever sell the car I may have to buy a replacement set of wheels and keep these. PICT0037.jpg

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's the link I was looking for but nobody has posted a picture in a YEAR! Let's see all the new guys. Jake I've always liked the Ruf wheels. They look great on your car.

POST 5Original post

This was posted a few weeks back. I changed out my turbo twists for the bbs sport design wheels.

POST 6Original post

They may not be the coolest, but I love my Kinesis wheels in black....they are easy to keep clean.

POST 7Original post

I also would like to see more wheel pics, my current three choices are the Forgestar F14's, O.Z. Ultraleggera HLT's and BBS CH-R's. None of these are my car.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was just looking at the link posted above. 13 of the 14 pages are from 2006 and 2007, mostly MK1 cars. Let's see some new tech stuff. Where are the Champions, HRE's, Fikse's. Where are the MKII's, the C4S', GT2 and 3's?? Let's see'em!!!

POST 9Original post

POST 10Original post

Maybe not everybodys flavor but to me they are the shiznit. 19" SSR Werfen GT-03 in searchlight silver

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They look great. Like the rear lip. How wide are the rears?

POST 12Original post

2012-01-10110327.jpg Savini Forged SV8 in 19" Staggered. I am not really into bling wheels but a local shop made me an offer I really can't refuse. I do like the deep dish in the rear. Will post more pics once its installed. I still need tires.

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 9208102

if your refering to mine, the sticker on the front is 19x8, the rear sticker is worn with no size visible anymore but they are staggered with the rears wider so I guess 19x9 in the rear. Were on the car when i picked it up, i liked the previous owners wheel choice, one other reason i was drawn to this car. I get a lot of compliments on the wheels! http://www.ssr-wheels.com/wheels/werfen_181920.asp

POST 46Original post

Right now I am also looking for wheels, but it is so difficult making a choice, so many options that can make or break a car I like the Work Meister S1 3 piece love the look, but I don't know how a Japanese wheel would be on a german car. The other wheels I have been looking into lately are Rotiforms I love Concave!!! There is the matte grey 996 C4S with red wheels, that got me looking into Rotiform but I am really liking their 3 piece concave snowflake style rim in the gunmetal grey color. 3 Piece Super Concave

The ride with the 19's is very harsh...not comfortable at all on a road trip lasting more than 3 hours. You feel every road imperfection and the steering is moving all the time.

Hi Airrik, A buddy of mine bought a plotter and had some silver vinyl. So we decided to grab the PORSCHE logo and print it out in numerous sizes to view the quality. The pictures i added are for his portfolio as he started a side business.

POST 67Original post

My track/AX wheels are Sport Classic II's. They have a 993 part number.

POST 68Original post

Greg doesn't post a lot, so I'm going to post for him.

POST 69Original post

I stayed pretty "oem", ..with "TurboTwist", (on a 996 C4, gen 2). Turbotwiston996C4.jpg ..but, my first try, with the real hollow ex-Turbo OEM (ET45 on rear) did stick out, so, since that picture, I shifted to non oem, and got non-hollow (but same design), with ET on rears, that fit narrow body.

POST 70 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking through all of these pictures, it seems like black is the hot look. It's definitely more aggressive. I'm not sure what color to get. I'm definately leaning VE Innsbruck, but can't decide on black or silver. Any opinions?

Porsche Wimbledon Green Metallic There are a lot of Porsches in the affluent San Franscisco Bay Area where I live, and my 996 really stands out from the crowd. It never fails to catch peoples' eye, and gets a lot of compliments. Here's a couple of more photos I took in Carmel-by-the-Sea this weekend. Gil

Gorgeous. I'll look for you in the Bay Area! There was another color similar to that for sale out in Livermore. But the interior really makes your pop, IMO. The other had a grey interior and it looked washed out to me. Anyway, nice car, and nice drive, I hope. I've had my 996 for a little over two months, and the 17 mile drive/Monterey are high on my list of to do's.

Yes, you will really enjoy driving your 996 on the 17 mile drive; and don't miss out on a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway along Big Sur; fun sweeping curves. BTW, your Ocean Blue is also a very nice color on the 996! Gil

POST 124Original post

love those wheels Exotic car guy, brave interior accents. They look almost red in these shots.

POST 125Original post

I like this clean/simple look better than the Momo chrome wheels the previous owner went with.

That's the first pic of the TE37SL on a porsche I've seen. It looks like the lip is not as deep as mine. Is that to get more brake clearance?

Wheels look too big/gapey for my tastes, but is that a paint job or wrap. If the former, what color's that?

POST 136Original post

Quotes source post: 9647877

I guess you never have to clean your wheels.

POST 137Original post

My plan was to test out the look by plasti-dipping, and then get them powdercoated. But they have held up surprisingly well and I really like the look. I honestly don't know if I can justify the cost and hassle of powdercoating when plasti-dip costs $5 a can. And, I can always pull it off if I get sick of the look or want to sell the wheels/car.

Yeah that makes sense. Have you sprayed any wheel cleaner to wipe them down and any issues with any of it coming off or bubbling from the heat from the brakes?

POST 145Original post

I sprayed 3 to 4 coats about a month ago and it has held up strong with no chipping or bubbling. I wash the wheels by hand with car soap - no problems. There's a vid on youtube of the DipYourCar guy powerwashing his plasti-dipped wheels to no ill-effect. Rules (Rennlist is big on rules): 1. Forget PIMP MY RIDE: just say "No" to spinners and 22's 2. Chrome is for '57 Chevies 3. Form follows function: It's a Porsche, G'd d'mn it! 4. It better be lighter than stock or why did you do it? 5. Rubbin' is for racing, and not for the inside of your wheel well 6. Yellow brakes rule; red is in the club; and if they're black, don't show 'em

POST 184Original post

Watch out for ANY cast wheel based upon a forged design. Unless they beef up the dimensions they will fail. It's all about metallurgy.
