I just replace rear pads on my 00 C4. Wasn't that bad except trying to seperate the dampening from the rear of the pad. After prying them out I demolished them and forgot to order new ones with the pads. I replaced the pads without them and drove car about a mile. Seems to be ok, but is it ok to drive the car without them until I get new ones. thanks

thanks.....also, is there a easier way to remove them. I must have been doing something wrong. It took me almost 20 minutes on each one just trying to remove them.

It's fine. I haven't run the dampeners for years. No squealing with stock pads. But I get a little clicking noise every now and then. -td

get something thin to pry the adhesive off and just reuse. Haven't tested it but I ASSUME the dampeners insulate the pad heat transfer.
