Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I set my sights on a 997 C4S, drove many 997 C2S's over a 2 year span, getting familiar with the 911, I always found it amazing how versatile the car was, user friendly.

I fell in love with my 996 C4S, my first 996 test drive ever, the car had 40K miles on it and was in perfect condition, felt very tight, and was taken care of better than the last 2 997 C2S's I recently had driven.

So I started considering C2S and standard 997 Carrera's, while never getting tired of test driving them.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I purchased a 2004 Carrera 4S from my local Porsche Dealer on March 30th this year... a long time dream come true for me. I have been enamored by 911's since I was a young child, and over the past couple years my admiration has turned into an obsession... every time I saw a 911 driving down the street, or parked somewhere, even though I loved my current cars (1967 Plymouth Barracuda highly modified and 2007 Mazdaspeed6 very modified as well), I knew nothing would do but a 911.
I set my sights on a 997 C4S, drove many 997 C2S's over a 2 year span, getting familiar with the 911, I always found it amazing how versatile the car was, user friendly. But the price of a well taken care of 997 C4S was a problem, and they seem to be rare in Southern California. So I started considering C2S and standard 997 Carrera's, while never getting tired of test driving them.
I fell in love with my 996 C4S, my first 996 test drive ever, the car had 40K miles on it and was in perfect condition, felt very tight, and was taken care of better than the last 2 997 C2S's I recently had driven. The black on black, maintenance records (always dealer serviced,IMS upgrade, brand new main seal), and price was too good to pass up, so less than a week later it was in my garage.
It is my daily driver, sold all the other cars I owned except my 2005 Ram Diesel 3500 that i occasionally need for work. This first 6 months of ownership have been great and a learning experience. Me being a car guy, always modifying and wrenching the C4S hasnt stayed stock long, installed a 997 SSK, GLH Mufflers, EVOMS intake, H&R wheel spacers, Fikse Wheels, Roof Rack, and been slowly blacking out most of the car. PSS9 coilovers are in the garage waiting for me to install those next. Beyond pleased with my purchase, and I am thankful to have this forum to come to. here are 2 recent pics of my 911.
Man you car looks good. Great story to. Always interesting to hear when people like the 996 better than the 997. Don't get me wrong I do like the 997 and will probably buy one some day but we all know how good our cars are. What did you use to black out the front parking/fog lights?
Nice looking car, and my favorite wheels
. Fikse FM10s make any car look good
You could put the Fikse FM10s on a tractor and the tractor would look killer!!!!
Yes I love the 997 as well, but for some odd reason this particular 996 felt more agile and sharp, plus in southern california 997's grow on tree's, they are everywhere, 993 and 996 are a rare bread, and I appreciate exclusivity.
Thanks!
The headlights I did with vinyl tint... covered the entire headlight with the vinyl tint, then very carefully cut out the ovals by hand with a razor blade... requires patience and surgical like precision, LOL, but it looks badass on a black car IMHO.
HAHAHA yeah, I like my car to be very utilitarian... use the car for absolutely everything, all weather, all adventures. That day I actually was doing a costco/lowes run.
Yes I have quite a few pics of it, I wrapped the entire headlight with vinyl tint, then hand cut the ovals by hand... razorblade and a steady hand. here you go...cheers
That job on the lights looks fantasitic - makes a 996 look like a 997!!!! Is there a product that can do that with an Artic silver tint or would this only apply to black?
