Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

I had a similar "error" in my other car and a good upholstery guy (who does reconditioning for dealerships) fixed it up for $20 cash money.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Upon getting into the car on a rainy day, I carelessly tossed my umbrella into the passenger side. The metal tip hit the dash console there and created the divot seen in the photo. Frick, frick and double frack! Any suggestions on the best way to fix this? Default is duct tape.

POST 2Original post

I'd take it to an upholstery shop. They might be able to fix it.

POST 3Original post

A red neck way would be duck tape haha.. Another red neck way would be to bend the leather back, put a drop of glue on the back then press back into place. I think you would still see the joint though. The only correct way would be an upolsterer on the job.

POST 4Original post

I had a similar "error" in my other car and a good upholstery guy (who does reconditioning for dealerships) fixed it up for $20 cash money. Can't even tell where it was now. Or - you could just consider it part of your car's "character".

POST 5Original post

With the proper glue, sand and color match it should almost disappear. Take it to your local upholstery guy and see what they say.

POST 6Original post

Leather or vinyl? You would be amazed at what the services that touch up car interiors and exteriors for dealer can do.

POST 8Original post

I say old chap that brolly made a spiffing good job of that dash board. Yikes haha

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok guys, that's one for duct tape, one for glue and three for upholsterer...off I go. Will report. Thanks all. TC
