Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, I've read a lot of posts saying it could be window regulator or maybe the locking switch could be dirty and just needs cleaning. Does any one have a picture of what needs to be cleaned or lubricated? Do I need to take any panels off to get to the part? I would rather first try to clean before replacing parts. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Problems with the window regulator are typically seen when opening the door, not closing it. If the regulator is bad, the window doesn't drop to clear the rubber trim and it catches when you open the door. If your window is hitting the trim when you close the door, it could be a regulator or it could be that your window glass simply needs to be adjusted. Does it hit the trim when you open the door too? Does the glass drop when you open the door but then raise up again before you close the door? If so, it could be a micro switch.
