Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Long ago a Saab SPG did something similar to your problem and it was the front calipers.
Leading evidence: 'front calipers' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'front calipers' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check booster' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I would check the booster before rebuilding the calipers.

I will get some caliper rebuild kits but beforehand I will check the cylinders ..
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good morning all. I have a problem hope someone can help diagnose. After warming up I attempt to move the car out and I "bog out"due to the pads are dragging the rotors. It's only when I press on the brakes they retract back into the piston calipers and only then..This happens when I'm on the road at a stop light.I find myself compressing the brakes in order free the pads from the rotors to continue goin down the road. If I slow down in traffic at any time, the calipers do not retract back into the pistons until I re apply the brakes which is dangerous during steady flow of traffic. It occurs when the brakes are used and I cannot proceed freely until I double brake. Has this happen to you. Why, what remedies this . I have the car put away until its fixed. Any help is genuinely appreciate it. The car is 1999 c2 with 82k mls and pads rotors where done about 6 months ago.. Genuinely appreciate any insight. Ya'll have a good day..
Yes "pulling" towards the right from high speed braking. But now recently they began to remain rubbing the rotors when decompressed. I know for sure its the fronts..I need to reapply the brakes from standing start in order to get into first gear without any resistance....I guess its a rebuild for the calipers. I was hoping it wasn't the master cylinder..Greatly appreciated...
I'd agree and suggest the calipers need rebuilding or replacing. Long ago a Saab SPG did something similar to your problem and it was the front calipers.
I have had calipers and a master cyl cause this in other cars, you can isolate by cracking a bleeder and seeing if that will free up a wheel. if it does look to the master cyl
Sounds like the brake booster to me considering your car is a 99. I had a similar issues with my wife's 996 (1999), the brake booster was shot and a lot of water came out of it. I would check the booster before rebuilding the calipers.
If it is another brake booster you require, I wouldn't know how to test the old one, but if it is:-
