With turbo you have to run a higher psi, as for the supercharger its very low boost so it can be very safe within reason.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, Ive been slowly working on my car and thought i share some pics! Its still not done yets with lots of work and plans to come this winter. Including custom center tip exhaust and side vents which will be functional with the charger intake! Also needed opinions on the Speed Yellow, Ive been debating whether to paint it a grey color or leave it yellow! And if paint, will go with a complete exterior make over. Just dynoed now 480HP @ crank! Thats with meth injection of course

POST 2Original post

Very nice , I'd say leave it yellow. Well done.

POST 6Original post

Nice car. If your choice is grey and your sick of the yellow, maybe look into a titanium or brushed aluminum car wrap. This way you'll be able to preserve the original paint for resale purposes .

POST 7Original post

Love the yellow. I would lose the black rockers though.

POST 8Original post

Keep the yellow. It looks slick One small suggestion though. I'd choose a different colour for the headlamps to complement the yellow better.

POST 9Original post

If you want to be invisible. Grey or silver. Nice car.. people should notice it IMHO

POST 10Original post

Very nice.Got any pics of the SC setup? I'm starting to build a SC kit for mine but it's hard to find any details. For example where are the oil feed lines and so on.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks all for your opinions, the yellow stays! Im gonna get a cut and polish done then to shine it up. As for the black rockers, they are unpainted polyurethane rockers. I wasn't sure to paint yellow or leave them for the new paint color. Will send the rockers and side vents in for paint once i cut a huge hole in my quarters ! lol Will post pics as i go along

I do, I will post some pics tonight! I have the VF-E kit with the Vortech V3 charger which has a self contained oil lubricating system which dosent require the need for oil feed lines

POST 15Original post

Ahhh a V3......I have a spare V2, the older style that needs oil from the engine. Still any pics of the setup would be good.

POST 17Original post

Anymore pics of the front bumper? Also which one is that?

POST 18Original post

I love yellow and black. Keep the yellow and keep the black rockers.

Thats for my meth injection system, to keep things cool and lubricated. Heat is the culprit for disaster in these cars!

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Lawson4323, Its the TechArt front bumper, I just added some LED to front section. Anyways, I finished "tweaking" and also the water/meth injection system and very impressed with about 480hp to the crank! This is a before and after dyno.

POST 22Original post

Niiiiice!!! Is the SC a counter clockwise unit?

POST 23Original post

Keep it yellow. But if you really want to change it, why not do a wrap?

POST 24Original post

yellow!!!!! And I thought supercharging a 996 engine would put too much stress on the engine. Would welcome the input/feedback.

Someone correct me if im wrong here, but High compression and low boost = Same goes with Low compression and high boost. With turbo you have to run a higher psi, as for the supercharger its very low boost so it can be very safe within reason. So far 4000kms with zero problems, and its 1000km break in and 3000kms of beating the **** out of it. No garage queen here.
