Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Little advice needed. It takes sometimes 2-3 times for me to get engine to get engine to start. I make sure my foot is pressed all the way down on clutch but it doesnt turn over. It doesnt matter either if i let oil test run before i turn key all way either. any ideas?

POST 2Original post

Very likely your clutch safety switch or ignition switch is failing.

POST 3Original post

It doesnt turn over at all or turns over then stops?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Everything lights up it just like its not sending a signal for engine to start. Turn the key back a forth a few times and it starts.

POST 5Original post

The ignition lock or the switch on the clutch are worth checking out as AHSAI suggested. That would be my humble guess. I believe that either is an easy DIY job.

What others say. Clutch interlock switch. Easy to replace and not expensive. Cheaper by far than replacing the ignition switch. Sincerely, Macster.

POST 7Original post

I had the same issue with my 04 C2 and it was the clutch interlock switch. I thought the ignition switch was going, had an appointment with the dealer. One day I thought I was stranded, got a little pissed off and slammed the clutch pedal hard to the floor and turned the key and wallah the car started.

POST 8Original post

+1, clutch interlock -- if the dash is lighting up properly, that rules out the ignition switch. When that goes, electronics (especially A/C) do not come on, and everything lighting up is sporadic, at best.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks was just reading another post on same thing. I think it was your post actually.

POST 11Original post

Did anyone mention battery/starter? You could try jumping/bridging the clutch sensor wires.

POST 12Original post

Nice thread! Started happening to me recently - glad to hear it's a quick fix.
