did you check the clearances on all the bearings surfaces on the crankshaft?

so repair Camshaft Adjustment Bank 1 issue, will have no effect on the low oil pressure right ?

I rebuild the engine about two months ago and changed oil pump with used one and I still suffer from low oil pressure Yesterday I noticed pressure spring was broken and replaced it with new one and did not solve the problem

Suggestion
For a street engine tight (but not too tight) clearances are desired for this makes for a quieter smoother running engine with a smalll (relatively speaking) oil budget.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hello

I do not know how to solve this problem
I rebuild the engine about two months ago and changed oil pump with used one and I still suffer from low oil pressure
Yesterday I noticed pressure spring was broken and replaced it with new one and did not solve the problem
Excellent oil pressure while driving except during idling
the low pressuer only at idle about .05 bar ( 90c ) .04-3 ( 96-97c )
I was using m1 0-40 i changed it to divinol 10-40
when the key on engine off the Needle under zero sometimes @ zero
whats is the symptoms of bad sensor unit ? ( I doubt that would need to change )
I would never use a used oil pump. Whenever I rebuilt an engine I was taught and always followed this teaching to use a new oil pump.
The clearance at the end of the oil pump gears can be large and this is an internal oil leak that costs oil pressure and flow.
I do not know what the min. oil pressure is for these these engines at hot idle. One WAG is that as long as the low oil pressure warning light doesn't come on the oil pressure is ok.
Another sign perhaps the oil pressure is not adequate is if the engine exhibits any behavior at hot idle that could be oil pessure related: ticking, knocking, erratic idle, perhaps variable readings from the VarioCam related sensors.
You have to be sure the low oil pressure reading is real and then eliminate a bad oil pressure relief valve as the culprit.
If this doesn't perk up the oil pressure...
Also, what Im0ooo mentions about the crank/rod bearing clearances is spot on.
I was always taught to check these and if they were out or even at the high end of acceptable to have this addressed. For a street engine tight (but not too tight) clearances are desired for this makes for a quieter smoother running engine with a smalll (relatively speaking) oil budget. IOWs, it doesn't require copious amounts of oil pressure/flow to keep the engine properly oiled.
10w-40 oil is very unlkely to have any benefit. If the oil pressure at cold is too low the engine's sick and the difference between 0w-40, 5w-40 and 10w-40 is nil in this regard.
If the oil pressure is at hot too low well, 0w-40, 5w-40, and 10w-40 are the same in this regard.
The engine then is sick in the oiling department or in the oiling needs department.
Oh, one last thing. The piston oil jets are controlled by a pressure relief valve to cut oil supply to the pistons if the oil pressure drops too low.
If this valve is missing, or stuck open, this could account for the low oil pressure which would be most notable at hot idle.
That pressure valve though I suspect is buried deep in the engine and an engine out and engine tear down is almost certainly required, so you want to without putting the engine at risk eliminate other easier to eliminate/address causes first.
Sincerely,
Macster.
Thanks Macster
I'm having this problem before and after oil pump

everything Almost in the ENGINE was changed
Considering the questions you are asking, I'm going the assume someone else did the rebuild. Ifnthat's the case, go back to them for the crankshaft clearance answers.
Mine runs this way, has for 3 years that I have had it. I dont think I dip to 1/2 bar, but I certainly go to 1 to 1.5 bar. I have been blaming my sending unit. It is leaking oil.
I didnt see any number associated with the word "LOW"
maybe you have "normal" oil pressure
or maybe you have the wrong oil
or low rpm
or other issue like sending unit
get the pressure checked by another means
More likely it is the result of the low oil pressure.
I haven't reread the thread but have you actually confirmed the oil pressure is low with a real oil pressure gage?
Sincerely,
Macster.
The specialist told me maybe there is oil leak and we will rebuild the engine again
Someone from Porsche told me low oil pressure because of this error
Camshaft Adjustment, Bank 1
They promised to fixes the problem with a full report
I'll let you know soon
Note: there is no warning light idling or driving
Is very warm areas also cause low oil pressure
I live in a very warm area
summer: 54c at noon
winter: 15-20c at noon
Don't rely on the cars electronic pressure gauge for accurate readings - get the system checked using a mechanical gauge....
A low oil pressure @ idle is not too problematic as long as you have the correct pressure at + 3,000 rpm at normal engine running temperatures.
at startup around 4.2 4.3 ( Because the weather is still hot these days 40c )
When the car is hot 80c
The pressure 1 bar or 1.1
When the temperature is 95c, oil pressure Needle on .05 bar
Thicker oil is not the answer if the bearing clearances are too large. It just gives a false sense of hope. Thicker oil or not, if the bearings are loose, they will pund themselves apart in no time.
I'm battling the same issue also. I'm leaning to the oil pump in the sump with the pick up.

Has anyone fitted the dual pickup from a gt3?
thanks trendy996
so repair Camshaft Adjustment Bank 1 issue, will have no effect on the low oil pressure right ?
If so better to fix low oil pressure first by rebuilding the engine again and save some money
No no no.....you need someone that knows a how to find the cause of the low oil pressure. Take it to a mechanic that knows what they are doing. Diagnosing this through the forum will not work.
