Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just wondering how this compares to y'all............ Two trips........1) Atlanta to Lexington Ky (370 miles) mostly interstate, probably averaged 75 mph........26.4 mpg. 2) Atlanta to Centre Albama (90 miles), 25 miles interstate averaging 80 mph and the rest being country roads at around 65mph......27.4 mpg. Seems pretty good to me??

POST 2Original post

I have a 100 mile round trip commute to work, so I watch my gas mileage. The car says I average around 26.5, but I haven't verified that. I've gotten it up to 38 once with the cruise control (full 50 mile trip home).

POST 3Original post

Mine gets about 26 mpg highway but sucks it up on the short spirited trips.

POST 4Original post

I have never gotten better then 20 out of mine - though my driving is rarely on the freeway. It is more like 16 or 17 on the average week for me. I am headed up to SF next week - which will be 500 miles - I am hoping it is MUCH better. I drive an 04 c4S cab.

POST 6Original post

I have been able to get mine in the low teens but cant break into single digits - though I am hopeful anything else sounds really damn boring

LOL That made my day!

POST 8Original post

90 mile commute, 80% highway. 24 to 25 mpg. less on the weekends around town - maybe 20 to 22 mpg.

POST 9Original post

About the same as everyone else -- 25 or so on the highway running about 80-85mph, and about 15-16 around town, less if I try hard

POST 10Original post

Just did a trip to the mountains and averaged 28.4. Moy old 03 C4S did 34 mpg all day long on the highway.

Seems pretty good to me. I try to drive my Boxster and Turbo around town in such a way to get 20mpg from both cars. With Boxster it really just boils down to obeying the traffic laws. With the Turbo it takes more than that. Some focus is required to avoid actions that can really see the fuel burn rate go through the roof. Out on the open road I like to travel at the speed limit but with a easy throttle foot I can get the Boxster to 28mpg and the Turbo to 26mph under the same driving/climatic conditions. Under some conditions like the drive down from Flagstaff to eventually the CA/AZ border often times is my best fuel economy leg. This is because the drive of around 200 miles has the car starting at an elevation of over 7500 feet at Flagstaff and ending up at just 600 feet elevation at the CO river. ('course the going the other direction just kills fuel milage.) Oh, on a trip up/across WY (among other states) I found some 93 octane gasoline (it may have even been ethanol free) and the Turbo engine loved the gasoline and delivered even better mpg and did so even though I was a bit more aggressive with the throttle because of the engine's positive reaction to 93 octante gasoline. It drinks only 91 octane goat **** here in CA. But it was made to burn 93 octane. Sigh. Sincerely, Macster.

POST 13Original post

I do about 80 kms round trip a day on secondary twisties and about 10 kms through town. I get on average about 12 litres per 100 km, this is the way most of the world discusses fuel consumption!!

POST 14Original post

25 mpg ... after 3200 miles in 9 days - in our C4 with Tip - With two folks on board and luggage, -- Seattle Round trip to Salt Lake for Parade with frequent 3 digit sprints and three digit Temperatures most of the time, and four club tours to high elevations - I think that is OK MPG. My normal driving - mix city streets and freeway crawls = 22 mpg on the on-board computer - much less if I am in a Red-line mood on the weekend.

POST 15Original post

At best, unless I drive 55-60 (which I don't...), I get 25-26 on the highway. And while I understand and approve of the Porsche engineering logic that made the 6th gear ratio performance-oriented, rather than economy-oriented, I wish they had gone the other way. 99% of any hard driving that we do in the US will not involve 6th. My car runs at around 3,000 rpm at 75-77 mph, killing gas mileage on the interstate.

here's a guy I would not mind riding passenger with -

POST 17Original post

I did Miami to Daytona at about 85mph +/- (with the emphasis on +) and got about 25mpg.

POST 18Original post

25mpg on the highway under 75 mph. I regularly get around 14 in the city because I drive it like I stole it. Must stop using heavy foot? Naw

POST 19Original post

When I was commuting locally about 5 miles a day (total - including a 1 mile jaunt on the parkway in each direction) I was seeing about 14mpg. My daily commute is now about 40 miles a day (total - 36 or so of which is on the parkway) and I get about 18mpg for that trip. I see quite a bit of traffic though and tend to enjoy the car's throttle a little too any time the traffic frees up. Recently, I took a 200 mile trip (mostly highway, with the top down) and got about 27mpg. YMMV. -Eric

[QUOTE=Jacks911;9881963]25 mpg ... after 3200 miles in 9 days - in our C4 with Tip - With two folks on board and luggage, -- QUOTE] I can only assume that both were guys because there's no way I could get enough "stuff" for a 9 day trip into the C4 if it was with the wife.......I'd need to reant a U-haul.....LOL!!

Actually I think 26/27mpg on the interstate at around 80mph with the A/C on is pretty good!

POST 24Original post

And yes it was my Wife... and yes we had three soft bags one rigid travel case a Colman Cooler and lots of loose Stuff. I could see out the back window (Half of it anyway) but that is what mirrors are for.
