Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

There is a procedure for adjusting the side windows, but I cannot remember where the document is.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi my new to me 2000 C4 cab roof leaks in a car wash (touch free
).
When the jets hit just on the seal. Its fine in very heavy rain it sat out in a storm for 2 hrs when we got about 2" of heavy rain.
The leaks occur at the joints in the seal at the top of the windows.

My question is this normal or is there a adjustment I can make?
What's your experience.
I wouldn't be bothered but since I plan to drive it most the winter it would be nice to be able to drive through and wash the salt etc off it.
Thanks
Not sure of the cause or adjustment, but my '99 cab does not leak at the windows. I've never had it in a car wash, but a reasonably heavy blast from the hose during a "driveway wash" does not yield a leak.
So, I would say leaking is not normal. Mine still has the original top.
I would not use a car wash on these cars. Cabs were never meant to be 100% water proof. You really need the hard top if you are going to drive it during the bad weather and even then don't take it through a car wash. They are not the largest of cars to wash off anyway. You may find a hard top of the same color on ebay for about $800.
Thanks for the input. Years ago back in the UK I had new Ford XR3i cab which would occasionally leak in a car wash but not all the time. Just wondering what peoples experience has been.
Considering the Hardtop solution since the plastic window is folded when down has anybody found it cracking from being stored folded in the cold?
Mine doesn't leak, but as others have mentioned, I don't take it through the car wash. Hand wash only. I'd rather have a dirty car than wash in a car wash.
I have a neighbor with a Boxster, and I see him take it to the local gas station car wash.
My 2000 C4 cab doesn't leak although I don't run mine through a car wash. My original top, which has 120k on it will leak if I blast water at the top of the windows, and even then it is just a few drops. There is a procedure for adjusting the side windows, but I cannot remember where the document is. Do a search for side window adjustment...
Andy if you are originally from the uk this is my page. It's been open about 15years now. You are more than welcome to chip in any time you fancy.

I have a 997 but the top is the same. What you are experiencing is normal. Occasionally I wash my car in the winter in the high pressure spray wash that doesn't have any brushes touch your car. Sounds like you are doing the same. I get the exact same small bit of dribble from the top of the windows. Just a bit, right at the corner. Never had a drop leak in during hours driving in the heavy rain. It is the high pressure. Very normal.
Thanks, yes it's touch less wash so no brushes just high pressure jets which seem to hit just in the right place
I remember reading in the owners manual about resetting the up window position so I'll go back and look at that again.
Thanks Hurdigurdu, I'll take a look at your site. I've been over here for going on 12 years now, married started a business so I guess I'm staying. I'm from Devon though not Lancs!
