Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have only had my car since April and the cruise control worked fine then. On a trip to an autox I noticed while I could turn on the CC when I tried to set the speed it would not take the set. This is nota big deal for me but I would like to have it working. I hope I can get some guidance as to what to look for,
Thanks
Although I have had nothing to do with them myself, I believe that there are two micro switches apparently the same type and size which are operated when either the brake or the clutch pedal are depressed. Either of these disengage the CC. Check to see if either is not operating correctly so it disengages the CC. I believe that they are actually above the pedals somewhere or above the pedals on the levers. If these are both OK and working as they should be then I would suggest that the problem may lie in the actual arm which switches on the CC. Good luck and I would appreciate any further input from others posters who may have had to deal with these switches in the past.
Why not just check the brake lights? I have noticed that there are people on here with a lot of past experience that just throw something out there like that and it ends up they are correct. Wouldn't hurt and would take about 3 seconds...just my 2 cents.
check the helper spring in the clutch under the dash. my cc didn't work and my clutch felt quite heavy.
the shop said new clutch...and whatever time to dx the cc problem.
after searching on here and a few mins of cursing curled up under the dash the clutch is easy to push and the cc works.
Same thing happened to me. I just bought my first 911, no cruise control, bummer. Did a little research and figured it out. Here's what I did, scooch under the dash with a flashlight, position yourself so that you are looking up at the pedals. (rest the back of your head where your heels go) in front of the clutch pedal (facing rear) is a micro switch. Ensure that this switch is moving freely. Hold down the clutch, with one hand, exercise the switch with the other. If the switch doesn't move, change it. $17 at the dealer.
To change the switch, gently remove the plug from the switch. Then, with the wires removes, twist the base of the switch, grab closest to the metal bracket about 90 degrees, done. Do the opposite to re-install. Warning: the CC won't work immediately, drive a bit, restart the car. I think the computer needs to cycle through a few things to locate the new switch. I did this today and now I have cruise control.
