That's not the picture I'm after either. What I'm interested is: Cams, properly indexed, without the valve cover on. There are 15 links between the lighter colored links. at TDC, Bank 1, the intake end points outward and so does the Bank 2 intake cam notch? Then, when rotated 360 to line up TDC for Bank 2, does the Bank 2 intake cam notch has to face inwards, like the at Bank 1? In another words, do the two intake cam nothces always have to point the same direction at TCD (both inwards or both outwards)?

1-3 bank cams are installed groove pointing out. BUT when you turn the crank 360 before installing the 4-6 cams, groove will point in. 4-6 cams are installed groove pointing in. At this point both sides will have the cam grooves pointing in. When the 1-3 bank is in right position, both grooves point out.
