Where can I buy a new spare tire only? They are more than 10 years old and most likely too brittle to use. What alternative sizes and brands would be possible to use with the spare wheel? I don't want to use the gooey can spray as an alternative. I feel safer with a regular spare wheel.

Since the tire is in the trunk, and not exposed to UV, it's still good, I'd bet. Mine is in fine shape, still. You can get the tire itself from Tirerack and have it mounted like a regular tire, though if you want. Not expensive, either, really.

mine totally fell apart in 3 miles when I sent to use it last year (1999 MY). My tire guy said to bring it down and he would see what he could find to fit the rim. But I just havent done it yet.
