Hello, I need some car advice re moving to Spain from the US. I expect I will be in Spain for at least a few years. I know nothing about the car situation there. I appreciate any advice, etc. 1. Should I take my 20 month old 996 to Spain? From websites I figure that I have to pay 16% VAT + 10% import duty, less 20% 1st year depreciation. I figure I can sell my 8,000 mile C2 for $55K (comments?), or have to pay about $14,000 in import duty/VAR. 2. I could order a 997 in the US for Euro delivery 3. I could buy a 997 in Spain. Do listed new car prices here include VAT? Any recommended insurance companies? What is the approx. cost of 996/997 insurance? Are there any gestors that specialize in car imports?
