Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Moreover, have to agree, at least the computer should be read for all codes, and service performed (engine/transmission fluid/fuel filter/ changed, plus plus) before do (more) harm.
Leading evidence: 'Replace plus plus)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace plus plus)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

several reasons for a cam error - it could be as simple as worm pads...(what year, and how many miles) - it could be one actuator died (common problem) or maybe one side (or both) slipped timing - any one of these needs to be fixed right away or you run the risk of severe damage -
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

seriously?
OK.. first off... how long ago is "just bought" because I would take it back to the place who sold it to you. Secondly... it the a CEL? and is the CEL throwing a code signifying cam position? if so YES - FIX IT

it is NOT NORMAL to have a cam error code (if I read that right)
after re-reading (as is normal for me.. I missed 03' C4) so you dont have the actuators or the same pads. It is possible the lifters are stuck either open of close (plus lifters have a center pop up) OR the timing has slipped, or there is something wrong with the PLUS system that activates the oil passages to open for center plunger to go from solid to movable. -
any noises?
Tariq, you wrote in another thread:
Your problem may be transmission related.
Nevertheless, take it to a qualified mechanic (Dealer or Porsche independent) in your area and have it diagnosed - there's not enough detail for us to really diagnose/fix
I think he is bashing the 996... it does not hold up to what he thinks is a real Porsche (just do a search in the 993 forum), Personally, I would take it to another shop.
Do you trust your tech? What specific codes where read? Any record naming PO tech, as he may have prior indication of issue and possibly the codes too? What color is the leak, what area is it leaking from?
Moreover, have to agree, at least the computer should be read for all codes, and service performed (engine/transmission fluid/fuel filter/ changed, plus plus) before do (more) harm.
Good luck,
Sounds like something is stuck on retard allright
Seriously, dude has a cam error and he wonders if this could be affecting performance?
How about - yes.
