Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bought a '02 996 in 03 and am loving it. Not my daily driver, but try to take it out when weather and time permits. Just noticed yesterday that when putting in reverse, my passenger side mirror no longer tilts down. Any ideas? Also, as is mandatory, included is a pic below Lenny

POST 4Original post

I have a stick and that is how it is done. Not sure what the process is for a tiptronic. Good question...

POST 5Original post

this is sweet now i won;t look so gay when paralell parking/reversing near a kerb backwards

POST 6Original post

Have you moved the mirror adjustment selector switch to the other side mirror? The tilt down function only works if the selector switch is set to one of the two mirrors, I can't recall which one. Cheers,

POST 7Original post

DANG! thanks for reminding me, I wanted to work on it when I bought my car, but with all the fun of driving it I totally forgot ,.....it's been 3 years now

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I might have accidently moved the switch. thanks for the tip. If not, I will try to reset my memory seats to see if that does it.

POST 9Original post

It's probably the switch. If it is set to adjust the passenger side, it will not tilt down. If set to the driver's side or neutral (if there is a neutral on the 996) the passenger side should tilt down. This has been the case in all the cars I've owned that had this feature. David
