Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While adding some oil today, I noticed some oil dripping from a small hole in the filler tube about 6-8 inches from the cap, and the dripped oil fell onto the grooved section of the engine belt. Can the oil filler tube be replaced as a DIY? While I tried cleaning the oil from the grooved section of the engine belt, some oil may still be on the belt. Any potential problem(s)?

POST 2Original post

they have made an updated fill tube to prevent that in the future it probaly about 100$ you have to take off the airbox the belt and the alternator and then its easy

Six year old thread revival. I didn't realize the internet even existed that llong ago!

POST 7Original post

Are you sure theres a hole there? You didn't misfire in putting the oil in did you and the oil has run down the underside of the tube? I mean how does a hole suddenly appear in a tube like that? If so. can you feel the hole? Then jam some appoxy resin over it from the outside and let it dry. Save you messing around removing everything and paying out $100 for a new tube.
