Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

(From what I understand the oscillation is used to caluclate/adjust an AFR, the sensor is binary so hard to get good linear measurements)

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, At idle and no throttle the O2 sensor ahead of cat reads a steady 0.04v. As soon as I push the throttle a tiny bit it starts to oscillate as expected. Why doesn't it oscillate during idle? Doesn't it care about AFR during idle? (From what I understand the oscillation is used to caluclate/adjust an AFR, the sensor is binary so hard to get good linear measurements) Car is a 1999 996 3.4 cab

POST 2Original post

stuck lean? vacuum leak? what are you fuel trims at idle?

So it could be a scenario where the fuel trims are maxed out but still running lean? The FRA/TRA was 0.3 and 0.97 during idle. But I mixed them up, would have to go back and check to see what is what.
