I talked to SunCoast, we confirmed it was the correct part number that was ordered, so they ordered 2 more from Porsche and I sent mine back.
Leading evidence: 'correct part number' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'correct part number' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All. I have a 99 C2 coupe and noticed the roof molding on the passenger side of the car was no longer sitting flush with the roof. I ordered a new gasket from SunCoast. Upon putting the new gasket on the trim I noticed that the gasket was about half an inch too long.
I talked to SunCoast, we confirmed it was the correct part number that was ordered, so they ordered 2 more from Porsche and I sent mine back. They compared the one I was sent with the new one that they received and they are all the same size.
The part number is 99655972200
Anyone have any ideas on why there is such a mismatch in size?
Thanks,
Alex
That is the correct part number for the passenger side gasket. I would try a different vendor order from AutoAtlanta/Sunset Porsche. Could be a cruddy supply vendor. You could always measure the length of the old gasket and ask them to measure the new gasket before sending.

Are you sure you aren't supposed to just trim off the end pieces? I took some pictures of mine, and it looks like the ends of the roof rail just tuck under the window seals.
The one that came off the car was not trimmed. Those end pieces of the gasket slide under the trim to keep it secure. The entire trim piece fits under the the gasket for the windshield and rear window which is why it looks that way on the car.
Same thing happened with my new rear window gasket. Installed it and had quite a bit of rubber slack left over. You need to spread the excess slack along the length of the piece. Looks like it doesn't fit but it will.
