Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, my name is William and I am super excited about beginning the search for my dream car, a 996 Turbo. I am a long time car guy from the Midwest, raised on tooling around under muscle cars, old trucks, and repairing tractors. After being assigned in Germany for a few years while in the Army, fell in Love with all things BMW.still own two pristine, but well driven M3s (E36 and E926MT). But, a Turbo Porsche has always been the mark on the wall.and now it seems the market and my position in life have finally aligned! I am pretty good with cars, but must say Ive never worked on a Porsche. Anyway, no real pressing questions. I just read that this is the epicenter of knowledge for all things Porsche. Autotrader has been my main search engine for now. I also have begun to scan the local ads in my current hometown. Thanksfor reading! Any advice is appreciated William

POST 2Original post

Welcome and best of luck with your search, William. Also a good place to check out is the TURBO forum: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-turbo-forum-61/

POST 3Original post

The hunt for the right vehicle is a lot of fun, but driving your new Porsche is even MORE fun! Enjoy the hunt...prepare for the REAL fun!!

POST 4Original post

Wow... I'm proud to hear your dream car is actually a 996. Most would say something more on the lines of a classic aircooled 911. Good luck with the search and thank you for your service to our country!

POST 5Original post

Tanks—I found mine here in the marketplace. Also, see if you can get the classifieds in Panorama (that tends to be a higher end of the quality and price in the sector). Good luck and post pics! TC
