Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Most of the time I just set my climate control to Auto at 72*, and usually thats comfortable.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My climate control seems to have varying interpretations of what 72 degrees should feel like. Most of the time I just set my climate control to Auto at 72*, and usually thats comfortable. Lately the car occasionally decides to pump out really cold air at 72* and I have to bump it up to 74 or 75 to keep the desired level of comfort. The ambient temperature display appears accurate, and I can get heat when needed. The symptom is more likely to occur after a re-start VS a cold-start, and most often at ambient temperatures below the mid-70s. My mediocre search skills did not turn up anything on the topic, has anyone else run into this?

POST 2Original post

Test for faults using Durametric (or PIWIS). Also do a search for "climate control hack", there are about 32 different values you can display on the climate control for various temps, door activation, sensors ect.

POST 3Original post

If the car has been sitting in the sun, especially the right side of the dash, it will pump cold air until it gets down to 72 at the temp sensor. could also be failing temp sensor or temp sensor fan motor? 99-05 PORSCHE 911 996 RIGHT INTERIOR AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR OEM 99665324100 https://workshop-manuals.com/porsche...res/page_2858/ http://www.design911.com/Cabin-Tempe...96/prod136205/ https://www.ebay.com/i/253452196947?...D1470099914221

POST 4Original post

Make sure your outside air temperature sensor is plugged into the bracket in the front bumper and not hanging down or pushed through the bumper. The climate control system uses both outside and inside temperature sensors to operate.
