996 Mk 2. Just discovered several bad bulbs in both center brake lights. My plan is to change all of bulbs to LED. First, I'm guessing those don't need to be canbus/error free, but checking to make sure. Second, they are available in white or red - wondering which would be best. Thanks in advance.

I read somewhere that if the lense is red a red LED is needed. Was thinking of doing this bulb swap myself as well but have also been thinking that just picking up the 2 center brake light LED kit from eBay was the better way to go. Still kinda tossed up though and would love to hear some feedback.
