Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

my 996 had a pioneer headunit in the car that I took out and put the stock cdr-220 back in. It works great except I have to turn it on and type the stereo code every single time I get into the car. Is this normal? Any ideas what I should do to the wiring to fix this issue? It remember station presets no problem just not the code. Any ideas are appreciated, thanks!

POST 2Original post

It's got to be the wiring. The constant 12 volt source is not on. Pull the radio, there is a pin out on it and check the constant 12 volt source. I bet you will find that it is not present. The radio will remember the stations without it.
