When I test drove it I asked the sales guy why it was making a noise like it needed to be lubricated when I depressed it.

Then I test drove it to the PPI and the car (sometimes) made the same noise.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've had my C4 cab for 2 months now and am making upgrades/improvements slowly to bring it back to great condition. One of things that is bothering me is the clutch. When I test drove it I asked the sales guy why it was making a noise like it needed to be lubricated when I depressed it. His response at the time was "the car is off". Ok fine. Then I test drove it to the PPI and the car (sometimes) made the same noise. However, the tech didn't indicate there were any clutch issues.
How can I make this clutch sound disappear? It doesn't do it all the time and weather does not seem to impact it (hot days v. cool days).
1. Porsche Sport Exhaust
2. Turn up radio loud
3. Drive really fast with the nervous screamin' wife
4. Drop the top and let the wind noise ease your mind
5. simple ear plugs
Hope that helps!
The clutch pedal swivels on a rod under the dash. When mine gets "cranky" I shoot some silicone spray on the swivel joint/rod and it quiets down. Come to think of it, haven't had to do that in a long time. But it worked!
Many noises can arrise:
Inside:
- as Joe mentioned where the pedal connects to the master cylinder
- noisey or worn clutch booster spring
Outside:
- worn throw out bearing (sounds like an old rockingchair when worn)
- worn slave cylinder
Yeah....I was tinkering with the car when the ignition was turned off so he tried to act like once the car started up the clutch squeak sound would go away. This is the same guy who told me that I needed a new amp when the stereo didn't work and that the battery was fine... It turned out that the battery was NOT fine and once I installed a new one the stereo worked just fine. I'm sure he jumped the car 1000 times which impacted the battery strength and didn't want to tell me. He bragged about all of his Porsche knowledge, but had really no clue about the vehicle.
Sounds like it might be the throw out bearing. I gotta find out more about that and how to fix.
To fix you got to split the engine and gearbox, then while your in there there's a few possibilities
New flywheel
New rear main seal
New ims bearing
New clutch kit
Or just new clutch kit as a minimum!
