Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Having just replaced my clutch and IMS bearing with Pedro's system, this has made me aware of under car work space that may be consumed by a flush mounted scissor lift.
Leading evidence: 'Replace clutch and ims bearing' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace clutch and ims bearing' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

New to the Porsche world, but purchased a Cayenne and a 996 within the last 3 months. I'm remodeling a building (about 24'x60') from a storage building into a Porsche garage/man shed and going to put in a lift. At first it was going to be an asymmetrical low profile Bendpak, but after further deliberation, that commands the floor space for a long duration and may get in the way of the TV, security monitor, etc. Having just replaced my clutch and IMS bearing with Pedro's system, this has made me aware of under car work space that may be consumed by a flush mounted scissor lift. However the ability for the lift to disappear is extremely desirable.
What seems to be the go to "correct tool" for working on 911's, and not have a bay specifically designated as such? I don't believe I want a mobile lift as a friend has been crushed with a similar device, and I want to be a burden to my friends and family for a LONG time!

The best resource is Garage Journal. The most versatile design is an asymmetric 2 post

I went to MaxJax for two reasons. Low overhead and small garage where I could not afford to leave the lift setup. I have dropped the trans for IMSB, RMS and Clutch replacement. Plus multiple brake jobs and oil changes. I just break it down and store it in th corner when I am done with it.

I have the Bendpak midrise, shown in the video above by Schnell Gelb. I have it exactly as the video shows, recessed into the garage floor. It is absolutely stable. The cross bars can sometimes get in the way, though, and you'll have to make sure you position the car appropriate to what you want to do.
Excellent suggestions. What is yawl's opinion of the Bendpak SP-7X In Ground unit?

Not that I want to be taking the transmission out of this car every other week, but it seems like the platform type would make it about impossible. That said I've never used one and therefore don't have the knowledge to have a real opinion.
The taller units (which I like the height as I'm 6'2") such as the Kernel,

just seem to be visually flimsy.
Is it safe to say all of the bendpak stuff is high quality?
Appreciative for your advise!

First off, yes, the Bendpak I have is high quality. Looking at that video, I think I would have preferred that SP-7X unit to mine. Seems to give better access to all the components you need to get to.
I don't have personal experience with any of them, but I've been eyeing the MaxJax system. Gives you the benefits of a 2 post lift (minus a bit of height), but it fits in a more typical garage and can be moved out of the way if space is a concern.
I have stood under Rotary Lifts for 7 of my 8 years as a mechanic.
Yea, they are way more expensive than Bendpak, but in 7 years, I have yet to see one fail.
Building my man cave/garage, it's getting a Rotary Lift.
The SP 7X is an older, good design. Plenty of discussion about it/Bendpak on Garage Journal. There are newer designs and clones of these also. For example EE6503 -see GJ
