Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
50 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

All,
I have been seeing alot of posting of ATL recently and I would really like to hang out with some car types around north OTP. I posted over in th turbo side, but only got one response. Any one wanna chime in and lets try to get something together?
Good to hear, but I think Sat would be a little early notice. I am in group gathering stage now and hope we can put something together for mid July or so.
If everyone could PM me their email addy and location it would make things easier. I will make a group contact list for the email chain and send out a test email this weekend to all who get me their info.
Below is the Peachstate PCA calendar. There are many good events each month. We should try to mimic one of the tours they did earlier in the year, a month or so ago they went to a vineyard up north and Chattanooga (both runs had windy roads).

I was thinking something like this for the first run. Basically start and end in Alpharetta or somewhere else similar for brunch or something and head out?

It seems to have some good stuff on it.

Let me know your thoughts.
Why don't we do a tail of the dragon run? I'm in NC, but willing to make a drive for a good day or weekend
They have decent prices for lodging if we all pitch in on a cabin.
This is also a great idea that i thought about, but having made that in the summer we are best to wait til school starts back and traffic dies down some up there. During the summer it is slow going on that road.
Not necessarily. If you go in the morning, yes that means we'd have to save the heavy drinking for the next night, we could have a great run.
In addition, I don't know how organized you are... but we used to use radios and block off the road until we are ready to run. Just gotta have some one at the front and back, and a set of sacks.
If you stay over a weekend, you have a better chance of getting some good runs in as opposed to just one day. In addition, there are a ton of fun roads in the area, I actually found a secret road last year that nobody goes on.
Then you have the road to nowhere, that is just a bad *** drive in itself.
I can even show you where the dragon hillclimb takes place every year.
Maybe a poll is needed? Check out fontanna village, that's where all the car group guys usually stay at.
Oh yeah, and I've drank too much for a double quote... my bad
I am definitely in for the dragon if we plan it far enough in advance.
Anyone available for a day run elsewhere this Saturday or next Saturday morning?
I am really liking the sound of this conversation.
The tennessee rides i can assume would be weekend long endevours and will take some more serious planning. I think that we should plan a day trip at first and see how it goes. So far I have 5 people on the mailing list I am trying to organize. If anyone else wants to jump in let me know. I was thinking about cross posting in the 928 forum (ive always had a great love for the 928) as well. thoughts?
Those two you mentioned in the trail above would be good. 30-60 mile loops are good since we may be coming up from Alpharetta area which will add more miles to the drive.
Ok, the 52 mile loop starts in Helen, goes up Richard Russell scenic Hwy, Crossing Appalachin Trail) then across 180, by Brasstown Bald, then hits 75 South, crossing Neals Gap (crossing Appalachian Trail again) and then ending back in Helen. Helen is 5 miles from my main facility.
I also have a 60 mile loop that uses Blood Mtn (US 129) instead of Richard Russell, then it hits 180, and completes the rest of the loop.
I can drive these roads blindfolded. I know every curve. Last year I logged over 10,000 miles on these same loops, in over 100 different Porsches. I know where every bump in the road is, exactly how hot an engine should run (at any time of year) and etc. Its insane.
Here's a "Summit Photo" that I had handy. We take these on the final trip up the mountain for every engine we build, celebrating the summit of the project. This spot is at the top of Richard Russell.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have not forgotten about this. Been swamped at work and have a work trip next week. When I get back I begin the organization of a trip for us for a weekend or two after Independence day.
Drove through Suches yesterday. Tons of twists and elevation. Also lost phone signal and GPS signal for quite some time up there. Overall a great stretch of roads!
All,
I would like to organize a run for the Tail of the Dragon sometime in October. Let me know if there is any interest out there. If so please PM your email addy so I can add you to the email list for this event.
For what it is worth....
Several of the 'usual suspects' from another Porsche forum are already meeting up at Tail of the Dragon country the weekend of Oct 28-30. Its been a 10 year tradition for some of us.
The group is staying at Fontana Lodge (in the heart of the mountain roads).
It is a low key and very informal gathering with some wives coming (they usually hang around the lodge but some go out driving) and some guys fly solo.
We generally arrive during the afternoon on Friday (pleanty of mountain seat time just getting there) ... hang out Friday night. Hit the mountains on Saturday, group dinner that night and head out whenever on Sunday.
The hardcore hooligans arrive Thursday to get the extra seat time in the mountains.
Its really about the Porsche camaraderie now versus seeing who can be a F1 hero out on the roads. Scenery this time of year in this are is absolutely breathtaking.
Like I say, planning is very informal since this group has been doing this drill for years.
Specifics are:
When: Oct 27-30
Early arrivals available on Thursday 27th (most arrive on Friday)
Standard arrivals on Friday 28th
Departures Sunday 30th
Where: Fontana Village

There is a private FB group that we use to communicate additional details (if any).
