Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just received the delivery of my first Porsche and the first drive was short just going from the delivery truck to home. I have a question though again new to the brand as a owner and most are a bit reluctant to let you drive theirs but the question is is the 1st gear light supposed to be lit on take off while in auto? It lights when in tip tronic again please first one so please forgive me for not knowing or seeming less intelligent thanks in advance.

I own a '01 Turbo Tip, congrats on the purchase. Under normal light to moderate load conditions the Tip will be in second gear when rolling from a stop in order to save fuel. You can shift to manual mode to start in 1st or downshift using the thumb buttons again to roll out in first. The car will downshift for you, but to be honest I've never checked to see if it will start in second, shift down to first, and then back up to second again.

Thanks guys really appreciate it and I located all of the manuals and yes it reads the same way Carsly explained it. This thing is AWESOME I've been a big fan since the 80's and going to enjoy this great piece of machinery.
