Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Duraflex seems to be the most economical and easily available front bumper. I just have no idea of quality. I dont want to end up in the middle of a sh!tshow that ultimately cost me a grand. Thanks Brian

POST 2Original post

You have to fit and drill your own mounting points. The material is very floppy. I ordered a rear bumper for my 996, general poor fit. I came folded in thirds and stuffed in a box. Not impressed.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Chalk one up for you get what you pay for thinking.

POST 4Original post

I'd avoid Duraflex unless you love dealing with serious fitment issues. Why not hunt yourself an OEM front bumper on eBay? Seems that would go in line with the Turbo rear bumper you made fit on the car. You can do it! We're rooting for you!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Getting one on will not be a problem. For me it’s about the $. Let’s face it, we could **** away thousands on these cars real fast. Now I intend to put a few grand into my car while trying to avoid the waste like I have done in the past. That Duraflex crap shows up everywhere so your almost forced to consider it.

Poor fitment speaks to the quality (or lack thereof) of this manufacturer. I would rather keep the original OEM bumper skin on my car over sticking some flimsy gap filled fiberglass monstrosity on my 996. Just my 2 cents. I've seen many OEM Turbo front bumpers go for as little as $400 on eBay. Several here on Rennlist have successful mounted them with little or no trouble. But in the end, it really doesn't matter what we think. It's your car and your money... more power to you.
