Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just changed all the ignition coils a month ago.
Leading evidence: 'Replace ignition coils a month ago' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'active missfire' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check ignition coils' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
If the check engine light is flashing it is due to an active missfire.
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

well, that may change the outcome of which part failed.

The car didnt cause that much problem for a while, but tonight I washed my car, dried it, turned it on and let the engine run for a while.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The car had a problem of leaking oil from a single piston that was on the left bank but I couldn't afford to have it fixed.
Hey, 1998 C2 Owner here. Bought the car with the engine on 100,000 km's region (dont know exactly how many kilometers sincee the engine was bolted on from a different car) also did 10k km's myself. The car had a problem of leaking oil from a single piston that was on the left bank but I couldn't afford to have it fixed. The car didnt cause that much problem for a while, but tonight I washed my car, dried it, turned it on and let the engine run for a while. Afterwards I turned on the AC, then left it like that for another 5 minutes. I got in the car and there was a check engine light on. I felt as if the car was trying to launch from 4th gear, like it was trying to operate the clutch but couldnt, and the rpms were a bit lower than usual. I put the car in D, and then the light started to flash. I couldnt leave it there so I had to go for about 500m, parked the car, light was now fully on, not flashing. Gave some revs, nothing out of ordinary but there was a knocking sound, which I think is misfire. How could this have happened? Can water cause something like this to happen? or is it because it didnt have proper maintanence?
Are you saying when you "washed the car" did you spray the engine with water and then attempt to start the motor?
Do you have access to a decent scanner to read the fault codes?
If the check engine light is flashing it is due to an active missfire. The light flashes because the computer has detected enough of an issue that can cause catalytic converter damage. Car will need to be scanned. I'm sure you will find a missfire code. Most likely caused by a cracked ignition coil that got a little wet.
