Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 1999 911 didn't come with an owner's manual. So, I've been unsure about what certain switches/buttons in the car do. For example, what does the switch below the turn signal switch (left side of steering wheel) do? It seems like it changes what is displayed below the digital speedometer (the one below the tachometer). Is that all it does? What do the different displays signify? Also, what are the buttons to the right of the seat that are labeled M, 1, 2, 3? Lastly, is there a button to manually raise the spoiler on a 99 C2? It seems that other 911s have one, but I haven't been able to find one in my 911.

I couldnt figure out the round k *** that looks like a cigarette lighter with a pictogram of a windshield on it. Turned it, tried to push it and pull it, expected rear wiper engagement, or washer squirting, but nothing. Finally discovered its the speed control for intermittent wiper operation.

Send me your email address and I forward a pdf of the 2003 manual - many similarities between Mk1 and Mk2.

POST 5Original post

Read through the comments in this thread. Lots of useful things that the owners manual never mentions. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...96-thread.html

POST 8Original post

This is an electronic copy of the 2003 manual, most of the features/functions are the same so its a good place to start. https://www.dropbox.com/s/e7kbqstnta..._2003.pdf?dl=0 - Moderators if this is not aloud please feel free to remove. Admittedly I read it cover to cover out of sheer excitement when I bought my car
