Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My issue is with a different switch because my doors almost immediately unlock after I lock them.

If they do go all the way down, you may need to adjust the regulator to get the glass to seat properly on the seal.

IF you have the door panel off ( like replacing or repairing the regulator) there are adjustments to the window as part of the re-installation on the window to fix your wind noise.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So after spending 24 hours and 935 miles in the new2me Mk1Aero, I noticed a few issues that will need resolution. There is wind noise coming from both front windows at the a-pillar, and there appears to be an issue with the window lift/drop sensor on the passenger door. There is also no cup holder in this car, so I'll need to do something about that, and there is no second key. The primary key fob needs a battery swap.
I'm assuming all of these are common, known issues to address.
Mike
The 996.1 models didn't come with "standard" cup holders. If you look at the dash vents on the far left and far right, you will see they have one small hole in bottom of the trim piece and one on each side. There are factory holders that clip into these holes. I recently purchased a set for about $95.
My 99 also has an issue with at least one micro switch in the doors. I believe there are 5 in each door. I haven't taken the time to diagnose the problem with mine. My issue is with a different switch because my doors almost immediately unlock after I lock them. I understand that a Durametric can help narrow down which switch is causing the problem.
As far as the window noise and lift/drop, do your windows go all the way down? If not, you have a replacement regulator that still has the stop installed for a Boxster installation. If they do go all the way down, you may need to adjust the regulator to get the glass to seat properly on the seal. I learned this tinkering with the window in my passenger door that had the regulator replaced.
To get another key, go to the parts department at your local Porsche dealership. You need documentation proving you are the owner. Plan on spending about $500.
PS: If the window has the regulator replacement issue I described (upper stop still installed), There may not be an issue with the micro switch.
This is going to sound silly, but...check the crests on your wheels' center caps, they're about to fall off. Pop them off and re-glue them; an OEM replacement set is $200+ if you don't.

Here's another option for a cup holder. I have it and I like that you can just pull it out when you don't want to use it. It only holds cups, not cans or most bottles.

On the passenger window, when you lift the handle (inner or outer) the window should drop 1/2 inch, or at least try to. If it tries to drop then your switches are OK, and your regulator needs replaced (or repaired) there are DIY threads for replacement or repair.
If it does not try to drop on either inner or outer handle there are micro switches on both, so if only one works the other is bad.
IF you have the door panel off ( like replacing or repairing the regulator) there are adjustments to the window as part of the re-installation on the window to fix your wind noise.
Updated list of things done and things to do:
Installed a single din unit for hands free listening. Works well.
Bought the OEM center mount cup holders and intended to install them, but then aborted and bought the ultimatecupholders instead.
I've claybar'ed the upper 2/3rds of the car and waxed it. I need to do the same to basically everything from the bumper line down in the coming weeks.
Ordered the X51 oil pan kit and will install it when I do the oil change in a few weeks.
Looking at a set of OEM Black 996 GT3 wheels/rires for the car today. Will report back on those and if I buy them!!
