Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I bought a pretty rare seat because I couldn't pass it up (Recaro DTM RS in green stitching) I know after replacing this seat I'll get immediate fault codes and airbag warning lights for AWS, thorax airbag, and possibly seatbelt indicator. I know the 997 durametric coding allows for individual coding control of every airbag and sensor but can anyone with a Durametric Pro or Enthusiast tell me if the Durametric is capable of making these changes in a 996? I called Durametric and the gentleman said he coudn't find any place on the interface where he was able to make such changes. For example, here's a screenshot of a 997 model with Durametric Pro.

POST 2Original post

Year/make/model of your 996? DME version? I think that the coding is not there for the 996 because they don't have those airbags...at least the earlier versions. So Durametric for a 996 just isn't going to list those airbags.

POST 3Original post

What he said. You can't set parameters for functions that don't exist. This isn't a shortcoming of Durametric.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Definitely true. No thorax airbag in 996 as the bag is in the door. However, the 997 platform has near full functionality whe it comes to durametric’s enabling/disabling of seemingly all individual safety devices and sensors, among other areas of the car. The Durametric parameters are not so kind to the 996 platform. I’ve got an 02 6sp 996tt
