Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Had my Afterhours exhaust installed Yesterday and the sound is pretty close to how their website advertises is. They have (2) versions and I went with their Street version -Street -Race -Weight is 8 Pounds per muffler Cold starts are pretty damn loud, and the car in general is loud under 2,800 RPMS... After 3,000 RPMS it gets quieter (at least inside the car) and it makes almost virtually no noise while just cruising above 3,000 RPMS. Definitely no Drone with this set up. I am very pleased with it and the fitment was 10/10. Whole install start to finish took (3) hours. My Gundo mufflers I bought from Vandersmith are available if anyone wants them. Just PM me

POST 2Original post

Who did you buy from and who did the install? They certainly look like they would weigh less. Did you hear the race version or just decide you didn't want to chance it?

POST 3Original post

8 pounds??? mine feel like 80. can u post a link about these mufflers for us to look at or explore??? thanks in advance- marcus

POST 4Original post

nvr mind...I got em...not to far from us in n county san diego...

POST 5Original post

Those look quite a bit like the Fabspeed Super Cup mufflers.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

http://www.afterhoursautomotive.com/...emufflers.html Customer Service was great. And I chose the street version because Brian at Afterhours said I probably didn't want the race with how often I drive my car in the Warm months. *I will try to get a sound clip, but the Iphone never captures exhaust notes very well.

POST 7Original post

Your gundo hack is the "older" hack that is quieter. The louder hack connects the two pipes together.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Correct... Those gundo mufflers made a nice little sound in the canyons and near buildings, however on a wide open road they were kind of hard to hear... definitely louder than stock, but no where near as loud as a PSE

POST 9Original post

I'm curious how the race version differs in construction, since this versions appears (in the photo) to be pretty minimal as is.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What they told me is that the Street version is made in house at Afterhours and that the Race version they sub out to another manufacturer for the cans... so the cans are different. That is all the help I can provide. However Brian at Afterhours was awesome to work with and we even spoke on the phone on a saturday!

Assuming "Gen 2" is the race version, some of the differences are described on their website: http://www.afterhoursautomotive.com/...20exhaust.html Hard to tell which is which though since they say Gen 2 provides a "more refined sound sought by our more sane customers."

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 13686749

I assumed Gen 2 was the street version, since it is described as "more refined" which in my mind denoted milder.

POST 13Original post

...it says Gen2 is the "wife-girlfriend" friendly exhaust...on their website. I take that to mean street as well....

POST 14Original post

I've swapped emails with Brian@Afterhours. Good people. I haven't made my exhaust decision yet, I'm still exploring options but, this setup is fantastic especially when considering the price. Mike

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The only thing I wish after driving it some more is that at WOT it is actually quieter than just cruising around town at 3,000 RPMS... Kind of expect to hear it get louder under WOT. Put 100 miles on it Today... Below 3,000 RPMS is Loud and it does drone (above 3,000RPMS the drone goes away) ...just note you have to keep your RPMS above 3,000 RPMS if you want to run this exhaust. All around still happy with it. *I took (3) videos today and my Iphone cant pick up the noise at all. I will have to find someone with a go pro

POST 17Original post

Hi, Did you ever sell your old exhaust mufflers? I might be interested, especially if they are only a little louder than stock. I own a '02 C2 NA and think they would fit. Thanks, Bruce

POST 18Original post

Very interested in this setup...sounds like it might be a good price for a good product

POST 19Original post

The Fisters are loud enough to set off alarms in parking structures, but not on the street. That's about the amount of loud I can tolerate. But I think I need to hear a set of these in person. It's almost worth the price just to get rid of the muffler clutter.

POST 20Original post

So the gen 2 mufflers are the street version, does anyone have the 1st gen muffler setup? Trying to decide which one to get, any sound clips of either would be great

POST 21Original post

Just backing up Brian and Afterhours , great product and service. Excellent price too. Happy with my choice
