After reading the forum I tried disconnecting the battery and waited an hour.

Then all the sudden it worked when I plugged in the MAF but now it stopped working again so I replaced it and no change.

I have read multiple blogs some say use K&N other say don't, well here is my story. I installed a K&N filter and 2 days later the car started to stall and not start. I cleaned the MAF and replaced the K&N with paper still did not help. When I unplug the MAF the car runs OK when I plug it in it dies automatically. Then all the sudden it worked when I plugged in the MAF but now it stopped working again so I replaced it and no change. Can anyone help before I go crazy? Codes are P0102 & P0112

Sounds like you may have over oiled the K&N. What part # and brand did you replace your MAF with? Did you check your air box to make sure there wasn't any residual oil? And just to verify you have the flat part of the MAF (sensor) facing to the right, right? I have a spare '99 MAF that pops a P0112 but works perfectly besides that if you want to borrow it to verify the new MAF is good.

Slakker, I actually had not oiled the filter is was straight out of the box. However, I did get somewhere last night. After reading the forum I tried disconnecting the battery and waited an hour. When I return it started perfectly and ran smooth. I read that about installing the K&N filter as well. Based on what I have read I am not giving up on it.

By disconnecting the battery you clear all codes. The ones that come back on after about 100 miles are still at fault. You may have given the computer time to reset itself and sensor car could be ok now. At lerast that's what I think happened.

Hopefully it continues to run well. If you're running on the first MAF, it's not that fantastic to think that it might be coming time to replace it. Mine died of old age before I installed my first aftermarket intake...
