Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Actually, I did have the water pump and belt replaced last year, so maybe it got bumped then and has been weakening ever since.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After my first AX run this morning I saw steam in the rear view mirror... ugh. Yup, that hose is no longer connected. Goodbye, coolant! According to the techs that were there, this is common and "easy" to fix. First time being towed in my nearly 5 years of ownership. I guess that's good?

POST 2Original post

Yup, easy and common fix. Buy the upgraded metal part and forget about it ever happening again. Wierd that it happens while driving, the ones I've heard about are usually while working back there.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for showing the part #, I appreciate it!

POST 4Original post

Easy fix at home; just be sure you get all the old bits of plastic nipple out of the hoses. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...-fittings.html

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, it's already dropped at a shop. I'll let them deal with it... but thanks for the info. At least I can tell them to be sure and use the updated metal connector.

Actually, I did have the water pump and belt replaced last year, so maybe it got bumped then and has been weakening ever since. Just glad it didn't happen in June when I was in the mountains!

The metal part is worth every penny it costs. So the AX area looks familiar. Myth Busters test area...Right?
