Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been reading this forum for a while now. I picked up a stock 02 Targa last August and got all of the maintenance done and FINALLY all of the mods I wanted done. It might not be everyones cup of tea. But here goes!

POST 3Original post

Love the details, - red dash trim (did you have them painted?), red OD, center console.

Completely agree, love the wheels, tires and stance, great job! Can you please give us details on the wheels? Size, offset, spacers, brand?

POST 5Original post

Wow! Nailed it. Do you drive it or just get in and smile?

POST 6Original post

Looks great, nicely done! Lots of subtle bits only enthusiasts would notice - enjoy!

The dash trim I removed myself. It was a bit more involved than I was expecting. I bought some gaurds red spray paint from the brand Testors. Sanded down the Air bag emblem on the trim and painted it.

The wheels I got from a member here for 1800. I sold my 5 spoke Carrera classics for 800. They are Champion RG5 19 inch I have 12mm spacers in the front and 15mm in the back. I have tried all brands of spacers. There is a brand on Amazon called Customadeonly in California that sells spacers for these cars for about 30 bucks. They are just as good as the 150 dollar spacers I have bought online from other venders. The suspension is Ohlins coilovers with Eibach sway bars.

Its called a T96 Flat Bottom Steering Wheel. The guy sells them out of Northern California on ebay.It took about a month to get. He has a guy in Eastern Europe make them to order and ship them over. The steering wheel and the alcantara Gt3 shifter were great mods that you can put your hands on and make a big difference every time you drive. It is a weekend car and a ton of fun to drive. The mods I did were 997 3.6 airbox Fister mod Ohlins Coilovers Eibach sway bars Numeric Shifter and cables OEM sport seats red painted console out of a boxter Rennline pedals Gt3 console delete FVD red cluster OEM red seatbelts Thanks for all of the positive comments!

Impressive! Nice Targa.

POST 17Original post

Stunning car! Love the painted seats and center trim... and I really like that shifter!

POST 18Original post

I found the wheel spacers, good price. What size wheel bolts do you need?

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For the 15mm it came with lug nuts for the 12 it did not. My original setup had the Original Carrera 5 spoke 18 inch wheels. I put 15mm on all corners with the right drop, it makes it one hell of a great looking car. Perfect stance imho. If you don't end up with lug bolts with the kit. I run these part # HR-1456006 at Pelican for 5.85 a piece You are gonna want 60mm.

POST 20Original post

Wow!! Very strategic parts installed that compliment each other! Funny thing is red is one of my favorite colors for the 996. I love the wheels, too. Not many aftermarket heels look good on the 911. These look fantastic, and great fitment. Thanks for sharing!

POST 21Original post

Wow that car looks spot on. Everything comes together just right.

POST 23Original post

Wow, that looks great! I thought I knew all the boat ramps in San Diego but the one in your pic has me stumped...

POST 24Original post

Your Targa looks great, you got a lot of effort in it and it shows. Your motivating me to get mine more inline in where I want it. Enjoy rest of summer. Mike

POST 25Original post

Looks excellent... I especially like the interior with the red faced gauges, red rear center console, as well as all of the other red interior accents. I wouldn't mind having that interior look in my GR/Black 996.
