Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I tried clear silicone first but did not work, then tried 3M tape...no luck.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know where to get this? I'm not talking about the white gauge faceing but rather the aluminum look surrounding the circular gauges. Are they difficult to install? Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

I don't have them myself but many Porsche parts houses have these including Vertex and PelicanParts

POST 4Original post

Easy to install. Just take your time and use a moderate amount of clear silicone to attach. This will give you lots of time to get the covers properly aligned and if you decide to remove you won't have glue ruining the black plastic.

POST 5Original post

Take the whole gauge cluster out; it's literally two screw. One behind the hazard switch and the other behind the mic grill. That way you won't have the wheel in the way while you try to position the rings in place...and they have sharp edges that can scratch the lens if you're not careful. Instructions on removing the gauge pod is on renntech.org. Do a search.

Those were the ones I installed. They fit well and were actually good quality. Matches my silver console. I still think they were a bit overpriced though. They do come with superglue as an adhesive. I tried clear silicone first but did not work, then tried 3M tape...no luck. Had to use the superglue. They look nice in person though.

POST 7Original post

Be very careful with the superglue. The fumes will discolor the clear bezel and will be impossible to remove. Take you time and use silicone and wait an hour or two with the entire gauge cluster removed. Trust me.... I rushed it with superglue and now I have a small cloudy portion on the lens .
