Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While looking for new wheels for my car I happened upon a whole factory carbon fiber kit. Im not sure what its sorth though. what do you folks think is fair? The cluster surround, ebrake, steering wheel, shift **** lower radio piece and two door sills.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 15670956

So you think its all trash and has no value? If thts true then Im getting screwed. Can you elaborate more on this please.

POST 5Original post

did you already purchase it? do you plan to sell it? I would venture a guess around $200 but I think that is widely subject to interpretation

POST 6Original post

I was going to say "not much", but Bill beat me to it with his much more concise answer more diplomatically I'd say it's not worth the difficulty of the work you'll have to do to fit it. I certainly wouldn't spend any more than what Joe suggested above...

POST 7Original post

The carbon almost always cracks. BUT I would be willing to take the steering wheel! I would have it refurbished to match my interior.

POST 8Original post

The steering wheel and the shift know are in quite good shape (You would need to recover the steering wheel leather), the strips that goes along the dash also look good and are a direct replacement and subtle touch. If you can ge the 3 stripes of the dash, the steering wheel and the shift **** for 150-200$ it would be a good deal for me.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Carbon fiber is simple to restore. Ive done it a thousand times. I dont think you guys are being realistic. Im also not sure where you see not in good shape in the images. The steering wheel alone is worth a few Benjamins. i offered a fair price and paid a fair price. Is going to look good in my grey cabriolet.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Where are you guys coming up with these prices? ive never seen it sell this cheap. I think your dreaming.

POST 11Original post

If it makes you happy, buy it and use it and dont look for validation online. The carbon fiber parts are a small fortune new, and valuable used if in good condition to a buyer that likes them. Weve seen CF shift ***** alone sell for many hundreds on this forum. On the other hand, theyre worthless if you dont care for the look. These parts are worth exactly what a willing buyer is paying a willing seller, no more, no less.

POST 12Original post

I'd be interested in the door sills if they're in good shape and you want to get rid of them.

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 15671452

Exactly I was just trying to address that they worth something, 200$ would be a really good deal. Up to that, it depends on how much you are willing to pay but keep in mind that those pieces are far than perfect and they need to be restored.

POST 14Original post

The **** is worth $250 ebrake worth $150-175 steering wheel: $200 if cracked not badly, $800 if not cracked, $0 if cracked badly cluster gauge: $250 if uncracked

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So far I am happy with it. Its going to look good in my car. I wont be using the sill plates for sure. The shift **** is totally awesome. It needs nothing a couple of cracks but when installed you dont see them. I am selling the steering wheel but I aint giving it away. I dont agree with the lame appraisal from the peanut gallery.

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 15678314

Dont ask for appraisals then. Exactly as said above, its worth what a buyer is willing to pay a seller. The carbon bits in my 996 interior were so bad I think they detracted from the cars value when I sold it

POST 17Original post

Glad you like it and look forward to seeing it finished.

POST 18Original post

If you had a Rupes Nano Ibrid, you could get those pieces looking brand new. Some of us enjoy the restoration process, so if you can get it at a better price because it needs to be polished, then all the better.

Cheap? It's all worthless, in my book. Of course that's not saying you can get it for nothing. New from the factory, the stuff costs a fortune - that doesn't mean "it's worth a fortune"... You asked what we thought it was worth...you got a lot of answers you don't like. The bottom line is, you pay what YOU think it's worth - it doesn't matter what anyone says. **Just for perspective, Auto Atlanta says the back seats in my car are worth $3785.60 (draped leather) Would I pay that much ? No way... in my book, they're worth $200...
