Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

New member and new owner. I had been looking for a Targa. My research has shown that the Targa tops can rattle and squeak a bit while in the closed position. Can anything be done to help quiet some of these rattles and squeaks? I have noticed there are some fabric looking tabs that appear to be pretty worn. Not sure if replacing those will help. Any advise is appreciated. I sure love driving this car. If the damn snow would quit falling I could sure drive it more! Kyle

POST 2Original post

My top makes noise (squeaks)when going over bumps. It a 17 year old car and can easily be driven a thousand miles on a whim comfortably to me. None of the noise has ever given me any problem. Maybe the sliding mechanism has some play in it?
