Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, Quick question- As of recently I've noticed a chirping noise when taking off from a stop in 1st or reverse. Car is an '02 with 43k, original clutch. Is this an indication that I will need a clutch soon? Thanks in advance for your advice. -Tim "current MBA student trying hard to stay a Porsche owner"

POST 2Original post

could be the throw out bearing. Does it make the noise only with the pedel depressed? If it does then that would be my guess. I just had mine replaced along with a clutch kit.

POST 3Original post

What function said ^^^. Or, could be clutch plate/pressure plate "squealing" when under load because of glazing over. Just change it all when you do the clutch job.

POST 5Original post

ummm? stop putting your foot in it so hard? Maybe its the tires?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was wondering why I've been going through tires so often....

POST 7Original post

Bushing can do a chirp but never heard mine do it.

POST 8Original post

I have the same thing, I was told it's the throw out bearing. My chirping runs in any gear, obviously the noise of the engine drowns is out but if you drive near a solid object you hear it again. slightest touch on the clutch and it's gone.

POST 9Original post

Mine does it too from first some times. I dont think its really that big of an issue though.

POST 10Original post

Mine did the same thing. I don't think it is a big deal either, but it did go away after having my clutch replaced.

POST 11Original post

I don't think it's a big thing my clutch is only about a year old so I don't plan on pulling the tranny unless I have to, it's a damn shame it wasn't making the noise before the new engine went in.
