Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just needs those headlights either polished and made clear again or replaced by litronics.
Leading evidence: 'Replace by litronics' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'ignition coils' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check compatibility' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The new Beru Coils are thicker, I used two old coil bolt to screw the protective plates on each side.

When I check compatibility for my vehicles the site says these don't fit.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyway, changing them all out solved the problem and the engine just seems to run much better.
I've got a misfire and suspect a bad coil pack.
Where do you get your coil packs from?
I see Pelican has Beru coil packs @ 40$ a piece. I'm getting all six.
Does Pelican ever let you use a promo code?
Any advice is much appreciated!

I took this pic last week at the Inn at Hastings Park in Lexington. She was just looking so pretty sitting there, I couldn't help it...
What fracture posted is the best solution since they are the updated style coil packs that are more resistant to wear. Also very nice 996. Just needs those headlights either polished and made clear again or replaced by litronics. Really updates the look.
Jason at Warehouse 33...Upgraded Beru Coils, much better price than Pelican, plus an extra 10% discount - use rennlist in coupon code...

When I check compatibility for my vehicles the site says these don't fit. Then I search using my vehicle info and I don't see the kit, just individual coils.
I bought that same kit from ECS a few weeks ago. Worked a treat on my '03 and would assume the same on your '99. I read some compatibility issues with the TT models based on the thicker walls of the coilpack boot coming in contact with a downpipe, but shouldn't be an issue on your N/A car. The kit part# is ES#3083524. I'm betting you'll be fine regardless of compatibility on their site, but give them a call if you wanna be 100%.
Oh and i also worked on my headlight lenses with Mckee's 37 purchased from Autogeek. That stuff is legit and i highly recommend it.

So I swapped the coil packs. The job was actually much easier than I had anticipated. Done in my driveway on jack stands. Running nice and smooth with much better power throughout.
Are you guys changing the coils proactively? I'm changing my plugs right now and already have the coils out. All the spark plugs look fine. I plan on testing the coils with a multi-meter before putting them back in.
I had a misfire on #1 due to a cracked coil that got wet. Changed them all out for the revised upgraded coils. They are a bit bigger so I believe they produce a better spark. Anyway, changing them all out solved the problem and the engine just seems to run much better. So my advice is to get the upgraded coil packs and change them all out. Also, since the newer coil packs come with a different bolt on the larger coil pack, I had to buy new heat shields (because I stupidly bent the old ones trying to put them over the bigger coil packs) and extend the heat shield outward a bit with SS studs, SS nuts and SS lock nuts. I think all it took was about 3mm spacer to clear them.
To see the cracks you need to clean the coil tops carefully and use a lens. But why? They are cheap enough that if yours are old - just change them.
The cracks will permit the internals to rust if neglected.
I purchased my Beru Ignition Coils at
