Overall rolling diameter is very important to keep in check, however, some cars are more sensitive than others.

I'm running 19x11 et52 with no clearance issues at all and still feel I could push it another 5mm if I really wanted to.

Many 996 NB Carrera owners run factory GT3 tire specs to improve the stance and grip/performance.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Its an anniversary. Theyre NB but have the WB front bumper.
The .2 GT3 sizes and offsets are perfect to my eye.
18x8.5 +40 front
18x11 +63 rear
Very similar to Fractures setup. But what are you looking for? How flush do you want the wheels? How much camber do you want to have? If what you want is the most functional setup, the .2 GT3 is the best template on the 996, in my opinion, be it .1 or .2.
My car has spacers that give the wheels the same effective offset in the rear and within 1mm in the front of the .2 GT3.
18x8 +35 front
18x10 +50 rear
Here are some more pictures to hopefully give a better idea of the fitment:

Just went through this same exercise.
The back at ET63 is exactly flush on an 11" rim and ET40 is perfect up front.
Although you can also achieve exactly flush by using wheel spacers if you can't get the exact ET you're after. Many don't recommend spacers and many do, I do. Just make sure they are good quality and you get bolts of the correct length and with a floating collar.
Also with the GT3 MK2 rims on a .1 you can use 5mm spacers at the rear on a .2 you can't.
The F14 could work, although only the semi concave face is available in the correct fitment; the deep concave and super deep concave faces dont have the right offsets to fit without more negative camber than is necessary.
Took a 2nd look at these. Pretty nice. The offsets are a little different though. Would the fit be correct?
Edit: Found this.

Much appreciated, sir.
As others have mentioned, we have great 18" solutions for your 996 narrow body which were designed specifically for the Porsche platform. We have multiple fitments available depending on your goals for the car (how you plan to use it and what supporting modification may or may not be done), desired tire sizes, etc. Here is a link to our commercial thread here on RL for more info on the wheels:

There are a lot of different wheel fitment options out there and enthusiasts have very different goals and priorities, therefore it is important to understand how you plan to use the car etc. Is your car a daily driver? Does it see any track time? If so, how often and is there a particular compound that you would like to run? Do you have any suspension modifications?
I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
996 NB Front Wheel Options:
18x8.5" ET50
18x8.5" ET42
18x9" ET46 (typically requires negative camber to prevent rubbing)
996 NB Rear Wheel Options:
18x11" ET60
18x12" ET65 (GT3 fitment & only advised if 315 tires are desired)

Thanks for the info. I checked out your website and saw the suggested rear tire size is a 285/30 section. Thats what I have now only in 19. I was hoping to go to an 18 wheel and a 40 section rear tire to soften the ride a little (street car only). I have the 030 suspension. Will this cause rubbing?
My only other issue is deciding between Antracite and Silver. I originally was looking at bronze (similar to the OZ Allegerita). Im just concerned he Anthracite is too dark for a black car.
For a street driven 996 NB with factory alignment settings, we would advise running the following staggered fitment. Our lightweight 18" wheels will improve ride quality and performance while reducing tire costs coming from your current 19" wheels. With that said, a 285/40-18 is way too tall of a rear tire and will impact performance, gearing, electronic nannies and fitment. Overall rolling diameter is very important to keep in check, however, some cars are more sensitive than others. Many 996 NB Carrera owners run factory GT3 tire specs to improve the stance and grip/performance.
Suggested APEX SM-10 Wheel Specs
Front: 18x8.5" ET42
Rear: 18x11" ET60
Front Tire Options
225/40-18
- 25.1" tall
235/40-18
- 25.4" tall
245/35-18 - 24.8
" tall
255/35-18 - 25" tall (Not advised for a street car without negative camber dialed in and best suited with our 9" front wheel option)
Rear Tire Options
275/35-18
- 25.6" tall (Not used often, but it does have the tallest sidewall amongst the tires listed. Would match best with 235/40-18 up front)
285/30-18
- 24.7" tall
295/30-18
- 25" tall
315/30-18 - 25.4" tall (Not typically suggested for a street car and often paired with our 12" rear wheel option)
In terms of wheel finish, it is certainly a personal preference. Black cars are quite easy to work with, as all three finish options work well. Here is a very nice black Cayman track/race car equipped with our 18" SM-10 wheels in Race Silver to show you that color combination. Silver provides more contrast, while Anthracite hides brake dust a bit better. It really comes down to the overall theme or vision that you have for your car

Thank you Ryan. Ill message you through your website directly if I have any other questions. The SM-10s look killer.
Im bang on 25.25 front and rear heights with the 235/35/19 fronts and 285/30/19 rears right now.
Agreed, I ran the 235/275 stagger for about 1.5 years. Great for street performance. 225/265 is NFG in my opinion for a car of this high performance level.
This.
I'm going with GT3 wheels, although I do like the deep lips on your RG5's. Nothing better looking than 9/8" Fuchs.
like your new look, but still think it need to drop a bit to get the look of the 997 you referenced earlier. 😎
You have about 10-12mm additional of clearance on that 11" et63 rear to play with. I'm running 19x11 et52 with no clearance issues at all and still feel I could push it another 5mm if I really wanted to. That's on a 315 rear. I'm not slammed but lowered 1" on a 996.2.
Killer setup, Stu! The Anthracite wheels with the red brakes behind them really look good against the black paint. Some red seatbelts would really tie things in.
Glad that you are happy with the outcome, and we hope you enjoy how they perform as well. What tire sizes did you end up going with? 225/40-18 / 275/35-18?
- Ryan
Copy that, thanks for confirming the tire specs. You are correct, 235/40-18 / 315/30-18 works well and is another popular tire configuration. Track enthusiasts and racers with negative camber dialed in will opt for our 9" front wheels to support wider 255/35-18's. This helps reduce understeer and improve turn-in.

^YES!!! I love that! Looks Iike a 996 GT3 Touring. The color of the wheels and car go very well together. This might have convinced me I need the Aerokit II front bumper and side skirts.
Thank you. I will put my gt3 tail back on, as it will look appropriate now. 5 spoke wheels didn't look aggressive enough imo, to justify tail.
funny you mention Gt3 Touring. Spoke with original sales person who said owner was looking for just that. With all the add ons, X51, PSE, full carbon interior, complete gt3 aerokit and no PSM, could have had a GT3. But wanted something more 'comfortable' and useable.
my bro has the real deal.🤤
