Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I recommend saving all the pictures from the sale listing before its taken down: its fun to look back at them throughout the duration of your ownership and remember what it looked like in pictures before it became familiar to you.

I even went so far as to pay Suncoast for their version (which I now believe is just running on V.A.) and they ended up refunding my money.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi All - looking for my first Porsche and seems like a good entry point is the 996. In particular, I like the C4S body style so have been focussing there. I live in the Seattle area and am eyeing an Arctic Silver 2005 for sale at a local dealer.
Anyone know this car and it's history?
VIN:
WP0AA29985S620136
A quick google of the VIN found this:

Nice looking!
But OUCH on the price.
For that much I'd probably be looking for a 996 Turbo.
Might take a few more dollars, but not much.
Wow thats their "special" Hate to see their non special price lmao. I agree I would be hunting for a turbo at that price.
Didn't you just read the thread on commenting on price, you are breaking the rule lol. Although I get what Joey was saying in that post, I don't think it matters one way or another. The prices are what they are, and this one is HIGHER THAN BOB MARLEY....
Oops, I guess I'm banned from posting until tomorrow.
That's OK, I'm off to go watch a Snap-On livestream training event on "Intelligent Diagnostics."
Basically a sales pitch disguised as training. Ha!
Just in case you want to buy a tool that costs as much or more than an M96 rebuild:

Oops, there I go discussing price again.
After years of research on these cars, there are so many out there at low prices, its hard to justify a price like that. Unless it hits specifically on your every must have there is just no reason. I found if you are flexible on color, miles (somewhat) coupe or cab etc you can rob these. Unfortunately my better half had very specific wants which lead to almost 4 years of searching lol.
Parkplace over prices everything and there cars sit for a very long time.
I like CarGurus as they give a good gauge on asking prices and there's a lot to look at.
Congratulations! That looks like a very nice car. The sport exhaust, sport shifter, and thicker steering wheel should make for a wonderful driving experience. Ive recently learned about those RG5 wheels and theyre pretty light and they look great on your silver wide body car.
I recommend saving all the pictures from the sale listing before its taken down: its fun to look back at them throughout the duration of your ownership and remember what it looked like in pictures before it became familiar to you. Im genuinely excited for you. Have fun and be safe!
I tried my vin on this website for
WP0AA2996XS620963
and said that Build sheet is currently not available. Is there another site? Or can someone run this number for me before I buy the car.
Double check the VIN.
The 10th digit(year) is it an X or a Y?
Other digits can be mistaken too.
S and 5, 0 and O, 8 and 3.
Sometimes you can accidentally write it down wrong.
I know I've done that lots of times before when recording for service history.
Dirty windshield are my go-to excuse, but I'll admit I just mess it up sometimes.
I had the same issue with VIN Analytics on my 2000 Cabriolet. I even went so far as to pay Suncoast for their version (which I now believe is just running on V.A.) and they ended up refunding my money. I wonder if there is an age cutoff. It worked perfect for our 2017 Macan.
Yep, you wrote it down correctly.
Kind of hard to mess up when using that VIN label.
The small metal VIN plate behind the windshield on the dash are easy to misread.
