Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did a quick search and found that I should use 75W-90 gear lube. Looks as though the transmission (2001 C4 manual) takes 2.85 qts/2.7 l First question: there must be fluid in the front diff - what is the capacity? I assume the same lube would be recommended? Next: Preferred brands (I know - can of worms). I'm looking at Mobil synthetic at about $15/ qt. Any reason not to go that route?

POST 2Original post

Yes, the front differential uses the same lube. I dont know exactly the capacity but I think that is quite similar I used Liqui Moly upon recommendation from several porsche specialists, from here and mainly from europe https://products.liqui-moly.us/oils/...-75w-90-1.html

Good tip. I actually changed my order to Red Line. Then after taking a look at the options for Liqui Moly, I ended up getting 6 liters for $90. Already had 10 liters of Liqui Moly 5W-40 oil in the cart. Also getting 3 gallons of Zerex G-40. Should take care of my fluids. Ordered a bunch of parts to be sure the car gets caught up on maintenance.

POST 4Original post

I made also the engine with Liqui Moly "longlife" fully synthetic 5-40W
