Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

It did the trick, but only after about 4 other solutions failed.

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got a new to me C2 Cab. While changing the spark plugs, I dropped one while pulling it out and it's in the cylinder. The tube came out with the coil pack and the spark plug is where the tube would be. I can feel it where it fell, but cant seem to get it out.

POST 2Original post

Is it still vertical? Try a piece of rubber hose or a magnet from the auto parts store.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is what appears as a small crevice just inside the hole for the spark plug. It seems to be wedged down there and turned sideways.

POST 4Original post

as mentioned above use a magnet or another type of grabber sold at automotive parts stores that can grab it like this: Amazon Amazon or you could turn the car upside down and shake it out

POST 5Original post

LMAO, not at you please understand, but that is why I choose not to do certain engine fixes myself. I always (ok, most always) make the job more difficult than it needs to be and then pay someone to fix my 'oopses'. Again, sorry for your luck. I can see me doing the same thing. You'll get it out.

POST 7Original post

How about a small diameter attachment on your shop vac?

POST 8Original post

You didnt screw yourself, you plugged yourself. Lets be clear. You will be able to get it out with enough creative thinking and attempts.

POST 9Original post

If I understand correctly, it’s not in the cylinder, but rather under the cam cover in the area of the valves and cams??

POST 10Original post

Oh man, I feel for you. It is something that would happen to me. I had something break off when I was changing plugs on my motorcycle. I ended up getting creative. I could lift it but not pull it out. I had to fashion a suction hose small enough on my shop vac. It did the trick, but only after about 4 other solutions failed.

POST 11Original post

Well, did ya get it out? Another idea if shop vac or grabber doesn't hold--hot glue gun, glue that sucker to something flexible you can pull it out with?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It ended up coming out with the help of my 8 year old son and small hands being able to grab and turn it and pull it out

POST 13Original post

I feel for you! Once dropped a small screwdriver inside a nissan engine block. Did I feel stupid... glad it worked out!

Great! Good for young people to get hands-on problem-solving experience. Too many people grow up having never fixed or worked on anything!
