Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Had a wonderful time! Lot's of family over, 5 of 7 kids, and 8 of 9 grand kids were here yesterday!
Best, most unexpected present goes to my son Daniel. He's a videographer for a TV station and he got to meet Mario Andretti at a event at the Circuit of the America's in Austin. He got me this:
Genuine Porsche hat:
Trim rings for my dash gauges:
Love the look!
Replaced my CD holder with another cubby, very useful!
And now for the biggest look changer:

Everybody knows that is the Manual IMSB oiler button....when your IMSB starts to rattle, just a few quick pushes sends a squirt of oil to the IMSB, then you are good to go!
Tranzit Blu HF device I bought on Amazon. When I get a call on my cell, I push a preset on my FM radio and then push the button and the call is then routed over my radio, hands free. There is also a microphone that I have hidden. If I want to make a call, tune the radio, push and hold green button for 4 secs, get a tone, then I can make a call on the phone and it will go over the radio. I'm very happy with it, installing was a bit of a pain because I had to order two euro antenna adapters also.
I have the one for the CDR-220. It's a direct plug & play (doesn't use FM). It's a great option for streaming music, making calls, and using your phone's navigation app if you want to keep the original radio.
I got a GT3RS...
It's an RC!
I also got a Carrera S...
...and a 917 & 918 Spyder...
..and a 5-shelf display to hold my ever expanding collection of Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, and VW Hot Wheels...and a few Asian & Domestic Hot Wheels.
It needs to stained before being hung next to the other two in my office.
I'll end up with five shelves for Porsches, five shelves for BMW/VW/Mercedes, and 5 shelves for Asian & Domestics.
Here's one of my 5-shelf displays that is already stained...and full of Hot Wheels.
I'm also building a couple of new shelves for my larger Porsche models.
I got an incredible stainless kobalt tool chest. Unfortunately I found out after unpacking it that the lower unit was dented up pretty bad. Now I'm waiting for Lowes to get me a replacement... meanwhile I have most of my tools spread out on the garage floor in anticipation. I can't wait to post a pic of it all together.

I have been eye-balling this LEGO Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS for awhile. Then it went on sale for $206 instead of $299. I havent decided if I will leave it sealed in the box for 20 years, or start building it:

I just got this back the day after Christmas. Spun a rod bearing a year ago. 87 with a rebuilt 3.0 turbo. Been able to put 225 gentle miles on it so far. While it was gone I did the only logical thing one could do.....bought a 996.
The replacement came this morning! Just finished re-organizing all my tools and getting things more or less back together. Still need to 3d print some peg board mounts for various things like breaker bar and torque wrench.
Nice collection of Hot Wheels Porsches. What model is the flatbed VW with 356 in tow? Have not seen that one.
My son has been collecting Hot Wheels for a long time and I usually give him some special cars for Christmas and birthdays. He has too many cars and not enough racks. Surprisingly, they don't really make any nice large racks for 1:64 cars, at least not that I can find. We ended up building a 2 foot by 4 foot rack with 24 shelves. That's been full for a long time, trying to find time to build another rack.
Whoops! Posted this in the wrong thread, apologies...
All four wheels Hunter Road force balanced and rotated Saturday, then today had my second free alignment at the Firestone on Culebra/1604. Firestone has a $299 lifetime alignment. I spent many hours calling around town to find one that had the right equipment for my 03 C2. Get this, the technician is Mr. Carrera, yes, his name is really Jack Carrera! (and he loves Porsche's!)
Here’s a few close up pictures of the Porsche 356 & VW Transporter T1 pickup.
Dates on the bottoms are 2014, but I never saw them until a couple of months ago.
I saw several locally just a few days ago after Christmas.
If I run across them again, I‘ll pick one up for you if you wish.
Theyre on the unfinished shelf. (Masked and ready for stain)
I want to stain the shelves today, but my wife doesn’t want me to be exposed to stain (“could cause cancer to come back”) and wants to do it for me.
Here’s where the shelves come from:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/2207707...active_7&crt=1
It takes about a week to arrive.
I have three of them now.
There are several sizes available too.
Great info! Thanks. You have a smart wife. I've been using Varathane water-based stain+poly which works great and is (I think) a lot less problematic (being water based). It's harder to find a water-based stain only, Behr used to make it, but they stopped carrying it. I was able to find the Transporter on eBay after you provided the name, so it's on the way. Here's a photo of our homemade rack:
I had a Lexus LX470 I bought the lifetime alignment at Firestone for and had it done several times. They had the latest machine and when I would get it back the steering wheel was always a little crooked. Finally took it to Lexus and they said it was dangerously messed up. They are supposed to reset the stability control system and they werent doing it or didnt know about it. So short story is be careful with non dealership alignment cause sometimes they dont know what they are doing.

Thats awesome looking!
I like the glass; no dusting required.
I also like your Authorized Dealer sign.
Heres my shelves...staining coming soon.
...and most of the rest of my Porsche collection.
My old manager had the largest Hot Wheel collection in the country. He had a 2 car garage built just for them. Thousands of them and he just started selling them off a few years ago. It was amazing what some of the rare ones where worth.
Yeah, really scary prices.
I could buy multiple REAL 996s for some of the top prices.
I started collecting BMWs, Porsches, VWs, and Mercedes AMG a couple of years ago.
I now have 5 shelves dedicated to Porsches and 5 shelves dedicated to BMW, VW, and Mercedes.
The last 5 shelves are for Domestic & Asian.
Not so much Christmas but on New years day I drove up the Loch Lomond road to the 'Rest and be Thankful' pass on the way to Inverary. Beautiful day, almost completely empty roads, what a great way to begin 2019. Happy New year everyone.
2019 New Years day Scotland.
Very cool. I had to pick up a green 934 and the 2002 after looking at your photos. At first I thought it was a Datsun 510 , but then realized it was tucked in with a bunch of BMW's and had to be 2002. I used to have a "1:1 model"
of a 510, but it doesn't look like Hot Wheels makes any cool 510's (from a brief eBay search at least).
I lived in Greenock in the late '80s and loved taking roadtrips. Beautiful scenery. I'll bet the drive is a lot more fun in a 996 compared to my Austin Montego.
sasilverbullet, they are made by a guy named Ken "Porken" Lauridsen. He's been supporting the 928 community for over a decade with a number of custom parts and his stuff is very good quality. I have had a set of his lift bars for my 928 for over 10 years and he recently started branching out to make them for other Porsche's too. My 996 is slightly lower than my 928. Depending on your ride height, you may need to cut 4 small 3/4 inch plywood squares (one for each tire) to drive onto to elevate the car enough to get the a low-profile jack +lift bars under the car. Although, on my car I was just barely able to get them to clear by just sliding them into place on the jack with no issues.
I can tell you, after using them on my 928 for many years I don't like working without them. Makes jacking up the car MUCH easier.
I didn't get any photos of the end inserted into the jack point, but they fit like a glove. There are some pics on his website.

In a strange coincidence I used to travel that same road on my way to visit my parents in Carradale, also in the '80's and also in my Montego VandenPlas!! Small world!
Vandenplas? Wow, with a flash car like that, you probably had to really fight the ladies off.
The Montego actually wasn't a bad car, very '80s styling though. I even managed to break 100mph on the M9 in mine.
Let me get this straight. Judging from the pictures and associated description, you have a 2000 Porsche Carrera with a C4S body with interchangeable Mk1/Mk2 headlights, equipped with a 3.4L engine?
I've been receiving Engraved Blueprint Art's e-mail flyers for years now.
I've been tempted to get one,but I've already spent a bunch of $ on art for my garage and office and don't really have a spot available.
They send a proof before they engrave, but since this was a gift, I'm sure whoever got it for him didn't know the differences in 996.1, 996.2, NB, WB, etc.
Of course he could have a turbo style front bumper on his NB...I even know someone with a taco spoiler on his 996.2!
It's the thought that counts, not the accuracy!
Hang it with pride!
I'm "lucky" because we celebrate Santa and 3 Magic kings, so this year they came with a bunch of porsche stuff
- Tequipment Alu gas cap
- Tequipment rain sensor retrofit kit
- Tequipment auto dimm rear view mirror retrofit kit
- Porsche Trunk Oil bag
- Porsche First aid kit
- Porsche Motorsport Tshirt and cap
Well, I dont know, they were just under the tree / over my shoes
Warning: Spoiler for kids upcoming
Everything was bought online in Suncoast, Tampa parts and Porsche online shop.
The gas cap was around 150$ and installed by me. The rain sensor is around 300$ and the autodim mirror 200$. I am waiting to take them to my indy to install them.
Our kids take advantage of being Spanish nationals born in Luxembourg and living in Switzerland so they kind of get us to give them some stuff for St. Nicolas, Santa and the three Kings. The good part is that typically I also get some Porsche or car stuff for all these occasions. this time only two; a Carrera digital 911 GT3 RSR Manthey Racing, and a foldable chair and wheel/pedals to practice on Assetto Corsa the lines on the digital twin of a couple of the nearby tracks I drive in. I think my wife believes Im entering my mid-life crisis
My wife told me that once and I quickly told her I was closer to death than birth, so I'm FAR past a mid-life crisis.
She didn't seem to think that was funny.
But she also hasn't mentioned "mid-life crisis" since either.
I may well be past the mid-point of my lifetime, but Im definitely past the mid-point of my estimated useful life. I also have that type of humor, and my wife doesnt always find it that funny, either.
Ok, the final parts arrived to try to get to the best shift feeling possible (without going the numeric route)...
Fluid Change (done last fall)
FF trans inserts (installed and love them)
FF Metal Inserts + 997 Shifter (purchased from RL Euro RAE (thanks!), now need to install)
FF Engine Mounts (just arrived, need to get installed)
Can't wait for Spring Track days!!!
