Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I did research, Inyokern Airport runway is used by some car manufacturers like Audi for their commercial shooting because of scenic background, dark asphalt runway, etc.
Leading evidence: 'Use by some car manufacturers like audi' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'factory would' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Use by some car manufacturers like audi' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
A local Porsche dealer may not care about the side marker lights for an ad, but I suspect the factory would.

Suggestion
Regarding the commercial, it doesn't seem like the Porsche factory would use a car with non-standard (non-orange) side marker lights.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought this 2004 C2 Cab in November last year. Since the purchase, I put new leather seats and enjoying the car very much. Just wondering, the seller told me that this car was filmed in Porsche commercial on October 8 at Inyokern Airport in CA and he showed me the crew pass and NDA (supposedly non disclosure agreement contract or some sort about the content of filming) I asked why Porsche would pick this 2004 996 for 2019 commercial and he said, the commercial had a series of 911 line up and this car was chosen for 996 model. I asked how? And he said, when they saw his craiglist ad with below pictures, they contacted him.
Well, since I was already buying it, this commercial thing really didnt matter but, Ive been searching youtube videos recently to see if there is really a Porsche commercial with my car in it. I couldnt find it but well, hopefully I will find it someday
Happy new year to all.
I bet you it was a local dealership ad, not a nationally sponsored commercial by PCNA. Regardless, you have a beautiful car! Love the side skirts and Turbo-like wheels. Happy motoring!
Leather was $1800, and vinyl was $1150, and the shop owner assured me vinyl is actually better looking. And well I kinda like how it turned out. People who dont know 911 ask me is this a new car when they get in

Yah, you probably right and I agree about the side marker light. It's just that, the seller told me about the commercial thing after I made the full payment, showing me the crew pass and NDA agreement. He did insist that it was Porsche commercial, and it was 3 day shooting that took place in Inyokern Airport runway. When I did research, Inyokern Airport runway is used by some car manufacturers like Audi for their commercial shooting because of scenic background, dark asphalt runway, etc. But anyways, if I do find the video someday, I will post it~ whether it's a local dealer commercial or Porsche commercial regardless.
Maybe you can look up the names on the NDA and reach out to them to find out more. Often there is an agency involved who specializes in providing cars for commercials/movies rather than the advertisers or movie producers reaching out directly to owners.
